i really hate this part of COD MW2
I am new, but I already don't like you.
Only things in real life break it for me though.
Edit- Or for some strange reason when in GTA 4 when the cellphone goes off. "Hey Niko my cousin, wanna go see some beeg American teetees?".

Not much else to say. Why can't I climb over this fence? You let me climb over 50 other fences that look the same. Why can't I open this door? Why can't I jump through this, I know I would fit. Why does the world just not let me walk here? Why does this hill remain the same slope but I can't walk up it now that I'm halfway up?

Many things. Three worst offenders:

1. Mixing real life cash with game content. I'll go to a store and buy a game, I don't want to see anything referring to your business plans in the game.

2. Health bars. Why is it that firing a shotgun at someone has no effect on them except lowering their health bar by some points? A person with 1 health is just as able as a person with 100 health. Why?

3. Game designers ought to pay more attention that looks of things are in harmony with abilities of said things. Mario series are good examples of games that don't strive to be graphically realistic, but feature logical design decisions. If you see a monster made of rock, you can't kill it (makes sense?). Fiery monsters can be doused with water, not by shooting them repeatedly with shotgun draining their healthbar...

This, constant backtracking (Silent Hill 2 >:O ), and horribly hard parts where multiple deaths are inevitable (CoD4) really take me out of a game.

Oddly enough, no matter how awful the glitch, it never takes me out of immersion.
Quicksaving does that to me, so do loading screens. I quicksave a lot, so it gets hard to immerse myself sometimes.

Any cutscenes that go for an extremely long time, especially when it's a first person game. Alo loading screens that seem very out of game. A big part of immersion is the way things flow.

When my cats jump on the table in front of our sofa and block the screen, and I have to knock them back off again, then they jump on again, and that goes on for about 10 minutes until they get bored.

The worst immersion breaker is death. I'm instantly taken out of a game when I die, and in games that try to be immersive and yet kill me repeatedly any idea of immersion is lost.
I agree. The first time I played Mass Effect anytime I would die would piss me off so much that I would not play the game for a week, because of how slow Shepard runs and the size of the areas that they would put you in it would result in retracing a shit load of steps.

People repeating themselves in conversations like saying "go slay the horned beast of madeup mountain!" and when you ask again "go slay the horned beast of madeup mountain!" i know some games have it so the guy will say "i already said go slay horned beast you dumbass" but then they just repeat that as well!

Outside interference only. I think that even laughable voice acting, clipping issues and terrible animation can all possibly be part of a game's immersion. Not that I care too much about immersion mind you.

The more immersed I get in a game the less I remember to actually save. I spent hours in some games before drying and having to turn them off as repeating three hours worth of content now seemed like a chore.

Thankfully most modern games autosave 10-500 times an hour now.
