Name: Lars Becker
Gender: Male
Appearance: Lars is a lean, olive skinned man, moderately tall with short dark hair and sharp beard. His eyes are hard and sharp, sizing up everything he sees and constantly calculating. He tends to wear pseudo-military clothing relevant to era and location.
Personality: The faith and purpose that imbued in Lars by his resurrection have long since faded. It has been two millennia, and year on year Lars sees only suffering and chaos: now he is simply tired and jaded. Having seen the impermanence of men and their works, and disappointed by the promises of religion, he now carves an amoral swathe across the planet, seeking times and events of chaos to mask his tracks as he does what he pleases.
Unique Immortality: Miraculous Resurrection
Know at the time as Lazarus, his resurrection is well documented in the gospel of John. During the following years, Lazarus was a powerful supporter of Jesus' movement, even after the crucifixion. However, as the years continued, the promised return of the Kingdom of God did not arrive, and in time Lazarus was forced to fake his death and abandon his identity. As centuries passed, his faith was slowly worn down as he found no end to injustice, and watched the slow but inevitable failure of all things that men build. Eventually, he came to see himself as a cast-off side-effect of the posturing of a capricious god.
Disposition: Lars is amoral and jaded, practically sociopathic in his disregard for the opinions and feelings of others: he breaks this pattern only for other immortals, who he sees as the only permanent things in his world. His lifestyle has left him aggressive and manipulative, skilled in every discipline linked to taking whatever he wants from whoever he comes across. He finds dealing with Immortals to often be very difficult, for his habitual behaviour is a poor method of making alliances, and he has difficulty with genuine diplomacy and friendliness. (That's not to say he doesn't try, for he knows whats good for him: he's just really bad at not being a bastard.)
Plot Points: After leaving the lands of his birth, Lazarus travelled and fought in the Roman wars of expansion, moving on often and choosing areas where chaos and distance made records patchy, though after a century or two he left roman service to head for the wilder areas of Europe, where he chose a new name. Lars spent the better part of a millennia in Europe as a mercenary and agent, before leaving to explore the frontier on the american continents, though as modes of travel became faster, so too did Lars' movements across the planet.
