Goblin...explosions...they were beheading it?
Would it help if you knew the Goblin in question looked like this:

Who calls this a Goblin? Just...THEY BROKE LOGIC!
Welcome to African witchcraft. Logic needs not apply.

South African hospitals for example have cases they call "ritual enema induced colitis" which is fancy talk for patient had too many dried plants shoved up his/her ass by local witch-docters.
aaaah It's a landmine is it? Now it's making sen-... wait, "Mr Kamuyedza acquired a money-spinning goblin" How does a landmine spin money?

This brings me back to my Warcraft II days. Those exploding goblins sure are messy.

At first I thought it was a statuette in the shape of a goblin that was believed to bring fortune to its owner, which contained a hidden explosive material.
I don't see how they could mistake an anti-tank mine for a goblin. Do goblins actually exist in their folklore?

I think that it's more likely that the owner of the mine couldn't find a buyer, so he decided to get rid of it. Since there are probably no explosives experts in that village, he decided to ask the healer to do it, which led to that explosion. The whole goblin story was probably just a cover-up.

Well... I suppose if there was money nearby at the time of the explosion then the landmine would've caused that money to spin quite wildly.

What these guys believe though is that there's rare and precious minerals inside of mines and if you open them up you'll make a fortune. It's a very, very short version of get rich or die trying basically.
