Improve a game! (with a simple Idea)

I'm sure somthing like this has been done many times before...but what the hell

It can be a game you like or dislike, how would you improve it?

this whole thing kind of ocured to me with Red Faction Gurrella, which while not exactally perfect is a pretty fun game (I've been playing for hours so I'm sure thats evidence enough)

anyway story and setting wise its pretty straight forward, you are rebelling for the freedom of mars against an opressive military force, and it plays all this compltley straight

by that I mean you ARE the good guys, and they ARE the bad guys..its pretty obvious, just go near one of the EDF solders and they start screaming profanities at you (before opening fire usually) that is unless theres some great discovery/revelation (which I highly doubt, but in the interest of...well me, no spoilers)

so then I thourght how cool would it be if they took a more "starship troopers" aproach, instead of screaming at you the EDF solders were well manered, and would rush to the aid if any civilians in danger...if you caused way more casualties and people were actually afraid of you instead of suporting you..that the EDF was just trying to keep mars secure

basically what if it was made very obvious that you actually WERE a terrorist, even an insane terrorist not only driven by the Idea of a free mars but also by a xenephobic irrational hatred of earth and its people? it would make the insane mayhem you cause, make a whole lot more sense

I love portal. I do not have the second. In the first game there is this one thing that bugged me, it might just have been my own incompetence, but you could not use two portal to have a turrent shoot either itself or another turrent, even after you get it ti shoot. That would have been awesome.

But the turrets only shoot when they see you, which means you'd have to stand in the way, and I'm fairly certain you're a lot less bulletproof than the turrets.

Also, turret does not have an n in it.

If you move out of the way when it start's firing it can work.The turret still fires for a little bit when it loses sight of you. Its tough and you will probably get injured but it can be done.

Silly Snark response: I'd improve Half-Life 2 with a plot.

Actual Real response: I'd improve Homeworld (the original) with Homeworld: Cataclysm's ability to speed up the game, so you could rush through the resource gathering at the end that always ends up being rather tedious.

I'd add an L-shaped, 3-piece block to Tetris. Kind of defeats the entire point of Tetris but it'd make the game completely fresh.

In GTA4, delete the fucking friend system, as they did with the Episodes of Liberty City. Bam, instantly you've got a better game.

In Final Fantasy VIII, the magic stat, which you can increase by attaching magic that you've lovingly drawn, increases your ability to draw spells, in addition to actual magic power. However, this caps out very early in the game (before the first dungeon for me), because there is a hard cap of the amount of spells you can draw at one time, which is 9. Get rid of that hard cap, and a great but deeply flawed game just got a whole lot better.
