Improvement for the MW2 Airport Scene: An Idea

I was thinking, this could have made the airport scene in Modern Warfare 2 much more emotional: Right before the airport scene, there's a flashback to before your character joins the army. It shows your wife, saying goodbye to you. Right as you're leaving your house, she hands you a picture of her, signed "come home safe." Flash forward, the airport level begins. During the course of the mission, your character notices a body on the floor. You look down, and see-it's your wife. The screen flashes with audio clips of the goodbye scene, coupled with the picture she gave you on the screen. Then, Makarov slaps you and forces you to take point. This would add an extra level of emotion to the scene, and make it feel personal, as opposed to how it is now.

Why would your wife be at Moscow airport? I know the MW2 plot leaps around from the sublime to the ridiculous, but that would just be...I don't know, a bit redundant. And far too forced. Introducing your wife in a cutscene and then in the very next level having her as a civilian casualty? No thanks.

Anyway, it's enough of a ***** slap when:

Makarov kills you at the end (...and, you know, the whole "killing civilians" thing)

that it doesn't need any more emotion in it.

Riiiight...

cuz seeing your dead wife would, you know... NOT make you turn around and shoot all the Russians, blowing your cover... :)

i always thought it wld b cool if instead of just running through u get pinned down in the airport and make it a large firefight between u and the police, maybe even a hostage situation...

For the record, I think that it was a great game, and everybody just hates it cause the multiplayer system is shit and they had WAYYYY too high standards set for it.

Id simply suggest letting me move at normal speed and let me use my grenades.

Yep i opened fire as soon as i could, I had a job to do so i did it. Might as well be efficient about it.

Yeah, it wouldn't make much sense, but then again, it's Modern Warfare 2, where not making sense would seem utterly logical. I just felt that as it is, right now, you lack a "connection" to the civilians. The player doesn't really feel them as people, as Infinity Ward (presumably) wanted people to. I was just trying to think of a way to make the scene seem a little more personal and closer to the player.

Great, a forced break in the action(I enjoyed the twenty seconds of target practise before the real level) while watching an 'emotional' scene about an NPC that's worth about as much emotional attachment as the security guard with two days left to retirement. They should have allowed you to kill the terrorists, and in doing so earn a 'bad' ending.

So what's your idiotic excuse for why an American soldier's wife was in Moscow Airport, as in a Russian airport?

If they added any level of emotion to Modern warfare 2 it would officially become the most cliched shooter of all time.
