Ha! Emotion in Modern Warfare 2? Yeah, right.

The closest thing I felt to emotion in that game was rage at the bastard who killed a certain Ghost.
I fucking hated Ghost!

[small]nobody can ever replace gaz *sniff*[/small]
I liked Gaz too. That was the reason I liked Ghost. They're they exact same, down to personality, voice actor, and getting shot by an asshole.
RIP Ghost may you get flashback DLC

So what's your idiotic excuse for why an American soldier's wife was in Moscow Airport, as in Russia.
Your wife was having an affair with Makarov.
Wouldn't be too torn up about her, then. Why would Makarov kill her if he was having an affair with her?

Why not just play it from the point of view of a civilian with his family?
She outlived her usefulness: she was the one who informed Makarov of the US's entire plot, and once he knew, he killed her so she wouldn't get word back to you. He planned the attack the same day she would be in the airport.

-----

I guess I didn't convey my meaning clearly. I was trying to make the point "they didn't do this scene at all well" and then provide one suggestion as to how they could have made it even the slightest bit better. Apologies for my idea not being thought through.
They didn't make the game well.

Here's an even better idea...

Based on what the mission briefs that play during the loading screens say, Makarov has been starting shit storms for quite some time. The world knows his name, what he looks like, what he's done, and what he's capable of. So I digress, if the CIA were able to plant a mole, and have him get into a tiny 10 x 10 elevator with Makarov while armed with a M240, why didn't they give him the okay to just waste the **** instead of having countless civilian casualties and starting fucking WWIII?

Incidently, if everybody knew that Makarov was a turd to begin with, why did Russia declare war on America anyway? This is the mother fucking 21st century! Don't they have something called security cameras in airports now-a-days, and especially in elevators?!

God I'm about to get a hernia from this. MW2 is a decent game and all, but holy shit the story is AWFUL!

Touche. I found it hilarious when I read a quote from the developers somewhere saying that they like to keep their games "grounded in reality" and to have it feel "as though this could actually happen."

Oh yeah. Then it turns out Shepherd is actually your mother, then got a sex change, and Soap and Makarov are the same person.

He used the nuke to cause an EMP burst to take out the Russian attack force.

Modern Warfare includes 1887 shotguns.

Well I think it pretty muched fucked the Russians in the ass hard, because they lost ALOT of otheir forces there and that also means its a no fly zone. No helicopter support. No harrier strikes. No support. No orders. They are stopped dead. A very bad delay from wich it seems.

I think you're headed in the right direction...but you're riding a rowboat on a dirt path.

That point in the game needed some emotional attachment, but not to the civilians, to make the killing seem even more wrong...but to the TERRORISTS, to show why the heck they would want to kill so many innocent people; what all this means to them and how it's being justified in their minds. Heck, you could argue they needed to lean on that point MORE because you're playing as one of them.
