Cricket Bat

Not very practical, but fun to use. If I had to pick a second one, it would be a sharpened metal poll (aka a spear)

The rat flail from VG cats. I would provide an image, but google only turns up Rule 34 style pictures >.< I need some bleach now.

Lots and lots and lots of propellors. Shit, I got the idea from Half-Life 2.
Next...

I'd build a giant flamethrower and mount it with the barrel poking out a high-up window. Then I'd get started on some more conventional stuff while they all burn outside.

Oh and a flame-retardant suit...

A drill to pierce the heavens!

Also, if we're talking about realism in the vague sense you described, I'd make a Rock-It launcher, firing random chunks of debris and junk at the enemies.

I would build a crude nuclear bomb out of some VCRs, some uranium, copper pipes, C4, A drainage pipe, and cement. All I would need then is a hazmat suit and an hour or two to apologize for everything Ive ever done

In a prison, someone made a semi-automatic pistol from copper pipes (plumbing). I saw it in a documentary.

I'd take my cane that I hid in the warehouse previously, and use it as a cane sword.
Because it's a cane sword.

If there's weapon parts cant I just make a weapon?
LOL yes but it has to be a non-conventional one, for instance you can't just build a G36c, but you could take the stock of one, weld two metal poles to it horizontally, take the motor from a chainsaw, use it as a firing mechanism. Attached to the chainsaw motor would be a pair of chains (obviously), and then two tricycle tyres would be attached to it, and when the motor spins it would spin the tyres. You could then fire CD's out of it at lethal speeds. =]

Edit - Or you could just make your very own chainsword... supprised no-ones said that yet, but it's kinda dwarfed by...

Well first of all... I wouldn't focus on the weapon, I'd more than likely take the big spare parts lying around and weld them together to great a safe haven for myself, then whatever was left I'd create a bunch of nail bombs. The shrappanal from one Nail Bomb is deadly, nails piercing anything near it, and thus the reason for the safe haven. ^^

a few sentry guns, engie style!
Just sit by the campfire made from a zombie, playing a song on my guitar, while my auto-turrets take care of everything.
