If you have yet to play dark souls Then I'd suggest getting it either for the PS3, Xbox 360, and (with hopes) eventually the PC in this fabulous case. Without Further Ado...
http://download.gamezone.com/uploads/image/data/874615/Dark-Souls.jpg

I intend for this Rp to be a combination of the Game itself and its serious nature, with a mix of (hopefully) some decent character development and other things.

In the game itself there is no "True" way to win or reach some ultimate "Goal" but rather it depends on your character in general.

Alongside that I might revise this overall again to allow a decent set of freedom with background and a richer history to allow proper character development as well.

<spoiler=Story>This is the Entire post contains all you need to know from the Dark Souls Game and what events occurred, as such it contains spoilers so I'd suggest not reading the spoiler below this summary titled "Full Story"

In this Free-forum Game of Dark Souls (with a little bit of dice and system in play) you get to choose to play as 1 of ten roles to define your skill set and what you generally are.

http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Classes

Set in your standard fantasy setting there is one key factor of the people in the world, Fire.

"In the Age of Ancients, The world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of gray crags, arch-trees, and everlasting dragons
But then there was Fire. And with Fire came Disparity. Heat and cold, life and death, and of course... Light and Dark."

As all Fires that lit a path for living creatures and Humanity it would die out eventually, and the First Age of Fire where humans and other beings once rose to power would come to an end, but as there was a first so to came a Second.

I digress, during the dying time where the Flames where but embers and ash, a Curse Arose, of the Undead. When a person dies they return in a Hollow form, withered and still alive and able to die as a mere trivial concern.

There life and body would return to a bonfire, linked by a Fire Keeper in body and soul. Some would attempt to regain life by using Humanity http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/item_humanity for the chance to be human and all it entitles.

With each return some would be driven insane and turn to merely mindless enemies to attack and kill those who oppose them, some would never return, others saw it as a blessing of immortality.

Eventually the curse was ended and Humanities fire was lit once more to strive, but as the candle flickers in the dark, shadows creep within the fold...

As a dark mist wanders the sea, swallowing ships whole, never to return them... at least not in one piece.

<spoiler=Rp Mechanics>To sum things up/add on...
Bonfires-Your Save/Check/Rest points to restore you in body (although not Soul without Humanity)

If you die you return to the last Bonfire you rested at, you retain all items of personal and worn nature, though you may lose some heavier/misc. things in the process. You may/may not have a limited amount of lives... But that comes later.

Souls (not yours others), in the game one collects souls by killing enemies to spend on items from merchants and to empower ones self in strength. This will not be used in a common sense, and money will simply be Copper, Silver, or Gold coins instead. (You will start out with none please note)

The Ocean-Seeing as you will be drifting in from a crashed boat on to shore, you'll have lost a great deal in general, so keep it to the essentials and important people.

<spoiler=The Arrival>Introductions will be given later, for now you arrive from a wreck of a boat. A common trait is that space and time are rather mixed, meaning that your arrival can coincide with others boat crashing around the same moments within the mists.

All information concerning characters and etc. will be addressed in the Sheet.

<spoiler=The Character Sheet>
http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Lore Go here for information on history alright?
Name-(This can be Anything and also include a title of your choosing)
Class-http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Classes
(While theses classes give a rough frame of who you are, by no means do they limit your skills and what you can do eventually.

Age-(No Children)
Gender-(Nothing In-Between)
Ethnicity-(Humans Only)

Weight-
Height-(Up to 12 Feet)
Body type-(Scrawny, Thin, Gangly, Stout, Muscular, etc.)

Hair color/style-
Eye Color-http-
Skin color-

Facial Structure/Notable Features-(Scars and anything)
Accessories-(jewelry, purses, backpacks, and other things they would wear/have on them, if any of them have a special purpose or significance, put it in equipment section, this is merely aesthetics)-

Personality-(what drives them, how do they react, if they came across a puppy would the take it and love it, or eat it and kill it (yes in that order), their general views and reactions and actions, and emotions)-

Strengths/Skills- http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Magic This section is for what ever minor physical or mental/magic skills you have, the link should explain and tell of all the kinds of spells and etc. I'll be reasonable and let you people have free reign in spell section but I will call out for over powered or doesn't make sense. Chaos, Crystal, and Dusk of O. spells are not allowed.

Custom magic is allowed but I can call BS or otherwise, or just say that it is pretty much a copy of the other skills listed.

Weakness/lacking-Disabilities or other wise go here, or any other issues.

Equipment-(This includes, Armor, Weapons, Misc. Items, and Rings/Jewelry, see wiki for details. No magic or rare clothing from the list, enchantments are okay but look at Upgrades section for details on that. Stick to common items, but you can create custom armor/shields and weapons)

History-(Lore for Details, keep n mind this is Medieval Times and as lore is lacking a great deal keep it simple.)-

Other-(If I miss anything, then it goes here.)

I don't know what the Souls series is, so I wouldn't know if I would be interested or not.

In my Evangelion game, I figured that some people would not have seen the show and might not understand what is going on, so the first post was an infodump with the basic outline of the story, the environment, what their goals are and what they could expect, etc. It ended up being a great game. So maybe some more information, a picture or two would focus the players and attract attention?

Thanks and your right, then again I'm using a Pad for now and will get to more edits the second I get to my lap top.

I think you should consider a careful question her. Are you trying to have a light roel playing game in the Dark Souls setting, where the players will have a chance to interact above and beyond the monsters and struggles you'll put them through, or do you want to recreate the feeling of absolute oppression that Dark Souls and Demon Souls are famous for?
If the former, you should designate a home bonfire somewhere halfway through the game, or just set up a Nexus like Demon Souls, so that the players have at least one place of safety before you make them ingage in terrors beyond their control. In this case, a story is probably more important than fairness so you should push them, but in general provide them with several options of victory.
If the latter, you should list the starting equipment and spells available to each class an make acquiring more power somewhat dificult. Survival will be the name of the game, so make that the hardest goal.
Hmm... in either case, you should list what your goal for running this RP is for your players. Obviously, have fun is on that list, but is the goal to tell the story set in Dark Souls or to have a survival horror game? Explaining what sort of ride the players are in for might incrase your reception.

Or you can just say I'm talking out of my rearend and tell me to disappear. Either way, I'm just trying to make you ask the questions that other players might ask. I'm sure I forgot some anyway.

The issue I'm finding is that there is so darn much I wish to add in that I honestly think it is easier rather to let people look at things themselves if they have genuine interests.

The Bonfire in question is already in play when this will start and many more are along the way okay?

This Game I intend to... nvm go look up top and you'll see my answer for goals and etc.

Thanks for the feedback either way I can say.

No idea if you're even still doing this or not but here's a character sheet.

Name- Mikheal Tolvic
Class- Warrior
Age- 30
Gender- Male
Ethnicity- Caucasian

Weight- 160lbs (190 with armor)
Height- 5'11"
Body type- Pretty muscular

Hair color/style- Dark brown (chestnut) hair and
Eye Color- Green
Skin color- White

Facial Structure/Notable Features- Small scars around the mouth
Accessories- Carries a small leather backpack

Personality- What keeps him going is just wanting the nightmare to end for all, a little skeptical of most, if he came across a puppy he would take it, train it, and love it, he's light hearted but knows what needs to be done when it needs to be done.

Strengths/Skills- Knows no magic or miracles but is highly efficient in combat with a sword and shield as well as crossbows (since they don't require dex.).

Weakness/lacking- Has a slight weakness to magic, fire in particular.

Equipment- Longsword, Heater Shield, Standard Helm, Hard Leather Armor, Hard Leather Gauntlets, Hard Leather Boots, and crossbow.

History- Wanting nothing more then to be a knight of his homeland of Astora, yet being born the son of a butcher. When Mikheal was near becoming a full knight of arms at 23, a young royal had challenged him to a duel to first blood. Of course the soon to be knight took this as hardly a threat; he accepted and to the royal family's dismay Mikheal won, though not accepting his defeat the young royal rushed at him with great speeds only giving Tolvic enough time to raise his sword enough to accidently impale the prince. This led to his arrest and would be execution if it hadn't been for another nobleman approaching Mikheal's cell thanking him and giving him his effects before leaving the key giving the warrior a chance to escape. He headed for the docks, boarded of the boats, and traveled around for 7 years until he mysteriously found himself washed up on an unknown beach, ship-wrecked and all.
Also if possible could you tell me how to give the spoiler a title, I forgot.

And yes this is still technically open at the moment. Your sheet is fine for the most part, and why in the world does everyone take the puppy example so literal?
