Remy was eyeing the crowd when he noticed a young man, couldn't have been older than 20, fumbling his way through a crowd of people with a Pidgeotto on his shoulder. He followed the young one's progress up until the time he hit a brick wall head-on.

Snesnesnesnesneeee!

Sneasel burst into a mischievous laughter that nearly caused it to fall off it's Trainer's shoulder.

"I think you're right Sneasel. We've got our sucker."

Remy got up and waltzed to the young man who by now had gotten up and added a Cyndaquil to his already burdened shoulders.

"Okay guys, you ready?"

"Hey kid, wait up a sec! Yeah, you with the green hat! I couldn't help but notice that you seem a little lost. Luckily for you, I'm here to help! Why, for only 2,000P, I can direct you to a PokémonCenter, PokéMart, Dept.Store, Casino, Inn, dark alley, or any other facility of your choice! So? Whaddaya say kiddo? Come on! Whaddaya say?"

Remy sold his services while Sneasel keenly eyed the boy's Pidgeotto. It's mind drifted to tasty, scrumptious Pidgey eggs.

After searching through the large crowds duskull found his victim, a man (Ike) who's attention seemed to be directed towards two other people duskull sunk into his shadow (shadow sneak) and moved towards this man, when duskull reached the man's legs he quickly grabbed onto the man's leg with his cold hands, just above his shoe.
"GAH! What the...?"

After letting his mind clear for a bit, Ike yells, "Kirlia! Future site!" He also attempted his standard dance that went along, but the Duskull grabbing his leg prevented it.

Matt blinked, and looked around briefly, trying to avoid the strange man's eager stare. After confirming that there was no one else around wearing a green hat, he was forced to come to the unfortunate conclusion that the newcomer was talking to him. "Oh, um... okay? No, I mean, thanks, but no thanks I think I can... Wait, maybe you could... well, I don't want to..."

While his owner was occupied stumbling over his own words, Ventus returned the Sneasel's hungry gaze, his eyes full of disinterest and no small amount of loathing.

While the two Pokemon engaged in their little staring contest, Matt finally figured out what he wanted to say. For reals this time. "Um, if you could tell me where a hotel is, that'd be great. Maybe one that's not too crowded?"

Savannah stepped off the ferry and took a deep breath of the fresh air. It had been an extremely long voyage, that had thankfully passed quickly due to her catching up on some much needed sleep, as well informal battles against some of the passengers.

Ahhh, smells like adventure...

The Region of Johto was new to her... Although she had read and studied about it, none of it could prepare her from the sight of it, it was completely different to how she had imagined. Who knows what kind of surprises await her in this new land? She couldn't wait to experience all that was on offer, as well as hopefully capture the region's strongest pokemon.

The journey that took her from the dock at Vermillion to Saffron was also to be a long way, although the burden was eased by her trusty folding Mach Bike that she had brought with her, which shortened the journey time considerably. From there it was a simple matter of taking the train to the tournament, at Goldenrod City.

*Now Arriving In Goldenrod City* announced a voice over the com.

Savannah reached for a pokeball on her belt, and pressed the button which in turn opened the casing, releasing a flash of red light that materialised into the form of a Grovyle.
The pokemon looked up at her, before making a gesture with it's arms, as if stretching, although seemingly confidently.

"It feels good to get out in the open doesn't it Sprig? I know I feel that way.."

" Grove... "

"Let's go kick some ass, right?"

" Grovyle! " said Sprig joyfully whilst he also nodded sharply in agreeance.

Now...which way is it?...

"HELLOOOO GOLDENROD!"

Sav turned her head to see the man who had just publicly made himself look like an idiot, he was kind of cute, although his Psyduck looked even cuter with it's hand's placed on it's ears, looking hapless. He didn't looke like a local, maybe he was here for the tournament too. It couldn't help to ask.

She wandered over to him, giving a small cough, before resigning to a fairly brisk tap on his shoulder.

"Hiya! I'm looking for the All-Regions Tournament? Do you know which direction it's in?"

"Hiya! I'm looking for the tournament? Can you help me find it?"

"Yeah, sure. You listen for the screams and excitement and head tha-" He looked over to see a striking young woman,"Nice to meet you, but that's the best advice I can give you. Excuse me for a sec, I promised Daffy something just a minute ago."

"Pssssssyyyy?" the pokemon said, looking up at Darius, eyes hopeful. There was a flash of light as he pressed a button on a pokeball at his belt and Knuckles appeared.

"Ssssslash."

"Alright, I'll take two of those lollipops there, man. Thanks. Now you guys, enjoy these alright? I've got to talk for a moment."

Darius stood up after giving his pokemon their treats and attempting to keep an eye on them. They were happily licking away at their candies, but they were a team when it came to pranks, or in a battle.

"So, I was saying, Darius O'Kere would gladly walk with you, Miss....?" He spotted the pokemon behind her,"Oooh, is that Grovyle?" He continued to smoke the pipe, puffing a bit more now.

"Um, if you could tell me where a hotel is, that'd be great. Maybe one that's not too crowded?"

"YESSIR! Your wishes are my command!"

Remy exclaimed, not caring about the weird looks he was getting. It was astonishing how different these two people were. Truly an encounter, that was never meant to happen.
Before they got on their way Remy noticed the animosity between Sneasel and the sucker's Pidgeotto.

"Oh right! Sorry about that. Oi, Sneasel, get back in here."

Remy ordered his companion as he dug a black PokéBall with green spots and orange highlights out of his cargo pants pocket. It was a Dusk Ball.

Sne. Sneaselll-

With the Sharp Claw Pokémon safely tucked away, Remy started leading the youngster towards the small inn he himself was staying in. Putting an arm around the boy, Remy started the barrage of questions.

"Sooo-oooo what's your name? Where are you from? You here for the tournament? Why so gloomy?"

Whoever this guy was, he certainly didn't lack for confidence. Nor did he have much respect for personal space.

"We have now arrived in Olivine city. Please prepare to disembark"
The voice over the loudspeaker was enough to wake the small purple scorpion sleeping near a young man on a deck chair. "skor! SKOR!" The young man wakes up groggily, rubbing his eyes while sitting up. "what is it Kusari, what's so urgent that you had to wake me up from my na-" "This is the final warning. All passengers must disembark from the SS.Aqua in ten minutes." The young man seems fully awake now, with the realization that he needs to get off the boat before it leaves to return to sinnoh with him still onboard! "Oh. So that's what. C'mon Kusari, let's get off of this boat!" He quickly gathers his things and runs off onto the pier just as the boat's motors start up again. Once inside the costal town he stops to look up at the sky and takes a deep breath. He starts talking, seemingly to the small pokemon on his shoulder. "Ahh.. It feels great to be back in Johto. And the best part is, I can stop by in Ecruteak to see if any of my old friends are around before I head to goldenrod!" He is suddenly tapped on the shoulder. He turns around seeing a Woman with long brown hair and a strange looking pokemon (or at least what seems to be a pokemon, it looks more like three floating metal eyeballs.) floating next to her. "Excuse me, but did I see you a few days ago in Sunyshore city?" she asks. The young man replies by saying yes, he was indeed there. "I saw you getting off of the boat and I was wondering if you are here for the tournament in Goldenrod. I'm Jasmine, the gym leader here in Olivine. may I ask who you are?" The young man says, "Yeah, I'm here for the tournament, the name's Tom Relict, and this is Kusari, my Skorupi." "Skor!" Tom laughs and shakes Jasmine's hand saying, "It's nice to meet you! I really have to get going though, it's a long walk over to Goldenrod, and I'm going to need some supplies." Jasmine waves goodbye as Tom makes his way to the Pokemart.

As the terribly awkward attempt at a conversation continued, Spiegel's ire was drawn away from the glorified chicken in front of him. His eyes were drawn across the street, to a peculiar pair. A large, red-headed man and what was without a doubt the most weaselly-looking Sneasel of all time. Spiegel's eyes narrowed, as opportunity beckoned. They appeared to be heading in the direction of the inn.

He split from Daria's side, and started running across the street. The girl only had a moment to contemplate this before she let out a half-scream in surprise. "What the--Spiegel, get back here!"

She turned back and gave a quick apology to Caleb before moving like a woman possessed across the street. Spiegel gave a low, warbling growl, the equivalent to a laugh for his species. This was all too easy--

"Yo, lunkhead! Stop where yer standing or I swear I'm gonna pound a shade of blue onto that red skin!"

A deep, cold chill rose up in Spiegel's back, and he chanced a glance behind him; Daria was catching up, and fast. The little Charmeleon had to do this just right. Ducking between a stranger's legs, he positioned himself right behind the redhead's legs, primed to jump. The Pewter City native was charging like a mad Tauros now, and it'd only be another few seconds. Had to time it just... right...

"CHARMELE!"

The fire lizard ducked and rolled to its right, opening Daria up to crash headlong into the taller of the pair of men. "WAAAH--"

The both of them were sent careening into the pavement, Daria rolling forward, off of him and flat onto her face.

"Aw... crap..." she muttered in a daze.

Matt attempted to keep calm as the strange, as of yet unnamed man began to guide him along. It had to be a new record: It had only taken seconds of the man's chatter and insulting lack of etiquette for the young trainer to regret his decision.

"Sooo-oooo what's your name? Where are you from? You here for the tournament? Why so gloomy?"

"Uh, M-Matt Seras, Violet City, um, I don't know? Gloomy?" It was all Matt could do to keep up with the rain of questions, let alone ask any of his own. Unable to escape the stranger's grasp, he found himself guided along Goldenrod's streets. No matter how much Matt dragged his feet, this guy just kept pushing him along.

Meanwhile, Ventus and Spike trailed along behind the pair, having been dislodged from their perches by the stranger's arm. Though the Pidgeotto was glad to have his potential foe trapped away, any gratitude the Pokemon might have felt was quickly displaced by his annoyance; Spike, on the other hand, was occupied by trying to simply keep up, dodging through legs and around other obstacles. He might have even fallen behind, lost in the crowd, had Ventus not swooped down and allowed the Cyndaquil to hop up onto his back.

A few minutes of inane questions and uncomfortable answers later, and Matt was about ready to, not so politely, excuse himself and get the hell out of there. Then, above the ceaseless sound of his "guide"'s voice, the lad was able to make out a shout, swiftly increasing in volume. "[small]Yo, lunkhead! Stop where yer standing[/small] or I swear I'm gonna pound a shade of blue onto that red skin!"

Matt's eyes were drawn downwards as a Charmeleon suddenly darted out of the crowd beside him, the small dragon positioning itself in front of the red-head's legs. Then, just as quickly, his gaze snapped back upwards, as some kind of meteoric being burst from the throng of bodies, slamming into Matt's companion with all the force of a small truck. Letting out a startled yelp, Matt leaped backwards, banging his head into a wall as the stranger was awkwardly tackled by the new interloper, now clearly identifiable as a young women.

Ventus, sensing that they wouldn't be going anywhere for a time, swiftly landed, safely depositing Spike on the ground. Satisfied that his teammate and trainer weren't in any particular danger, the large bird offered the Charmeleon a questioning glance. "Piiiirrrrooo?"

Meanwhile, Matt finally sat back up, rubbing his head and staring at the tangle of limbs groaning in pain next to him. "Ummmm... are you guys alright?"

"GAH!"

Lee heard someone shout, he quickly ran towards where he heard this and saw duskull semi in the ground grasping a man's leg. Lee leaped at the man's leg from out of the crowd, but duskull was faster then him and already started flying away as lee landed on the ground infront of the man, but before duskull could get away he was struck by future sight. Lee grabbed duskulls pokeball and recalled him, he then got up and introduced himself to the man, while slightly out of breath 'H, I am lee, sorry about my duskull'.

Rupert was not having a good day. Then again he rarely did. His day had started with being violently shaken awake by a sailor right on the deck of the ferry. In his defence Rupert had not so much fallen asleep there as much as he had collapsed. Turn out that the sea life was never meant for him. The trip from Kanto had largely consisted of being seasick, feeling miserable and avoiding other trainers. Why were they all so eager to fight? Why couldn't they just all get along? Rupert just wanted this tournament business over with so he could go home.
Having gotten off the ferry, Rupert tried to pull himself together and find some place to stay. Oh god, what was he doing here? This was no life for him. A entirely new strange country? He had barely been outside Lavender Town in his life. And completely on his own? This was all going to end horribly. Of course it didn't help that his Haunter was refusing to enter his pokeball, flying just outside Rupert reach and simulating throwing up. He got the sinking feeling that Haunter was never going to let him forget that ferry trip.
"Hau hau hau haunter!" it laughed before making more belching noises.

Ryan hastily got off the bus, hoping this was his stop. The streetnames were foreign to him, as if they were out of another time. Once he and Mightyena got out, he tried gulping the fresh air before immediatly spitting it out again. The air was nothing like back home; it tasted badly. "How the hell can air taste bad?!" thought Ryan.
He didn't have much time to catch his breath though: after merely a few seconds of standing there he almost got run over by a byciclist. And then again by some kid running away from something. "The city isn't made for people like me."

No way Ryan would go back though. His parents and friends had pooled together their disposable wealth just so he could get here, and there wasn't a chance he would just go back after that.
He was leaning against a wall, trying to find out how to locate the nearest hotel, when Mightyena nudged him in the back. "Might... Might!" He barked, running off. Ryan follow him, knocking over some people while doing so. Mightyena stopped at a map, presumably of the city. "Good job buddy!" he said, trying to sound cheerfull. He wasn't though. This city was his dream. He wanted to become one of the best trainers ever, together with his mightyena, but as soon as he set foot in the city, he lost all hope. Pokemon twice his size where battling in the streets, cracking the sidewalk by merelying walking. There was no way he would best them in battle.

The map was hard to read, and the graffiti and dirt didn't make it easier. It was hopeless.
Ryan slowly followed the road, hoping he might find a Pokemon Centre he could sleep at. His Mightyena tried to nudge him back to the map, but without effect.

Deciding that the first place to check for a bed would be the local Pokemon Centre, Rupert began to make his way there. It was a slow and exceedingly awkward walk. His Haunter continued to float over his head, gleefully pretending to throw up in very vocal manner. Rupert was getting nervous, even more so than normal. The attention Haunter was drawing was the last thing he wanted. The unknown city looked to be full of trainers itching for a fight, and he didn't want a confrontation. Rupert just wanted to find a quiet room somewhere, get the tournament over with, and go home. He had barely finished the thought before he felt ashamed; the people back home were expecting him to do his best and Rupert did not want to disappoint.

Walking in this dapper mood, accompanied with hurling noises, Rupert turned a corner and froze on the spot. He had indeed found the Pokemon Centre; it was just a few streets away but he could see it from here already. The problem was that the aforementioned streets were littered with trainers. This was to be expected so near a Pokemon Centre but Rupert's social anxiety kicked in. Near him was a well-built young man with a rather intimidating Mightyena. Even Haunter stopped his antics at the sight of the dog-like Pokemon. A dark type; this was Haunter's natural predator.

"Nnnh... Did anyone see that Rhyhorn?"

Remy had actually been knocked out for a while after getting his spine re-arranged by the girl he now saw lying face down on the pavement with a proud looking Charmeleon beside her.

"Hey, you okay there miss? You really should be more careful. Not everyone here is as nice as I am."

Remy watched as the girl's Pokémon helped her up. Not every day you see a Charmeleon summon a Graveler out of a PokéBall... She was cute, in a rough, tomboy kind of way. Remy then turned towards his mark.

"You hurt, Matt Seras from Violet City? I know first aid, just 1,000P..."

"You hurt, Matt Seras from Violet City? I know first aid, just 1,000P..."

Shaking his head in response, Matt scrambled to his feet, muttering as he looked about apologetically, "No no, that's fine; I think I'm okay. Looks like you guys got the worst of it..."

It was with no small amount of relief that the nervous lad watched his guide and the girl rise to their feet, each wincing and looking somewhat sore, but otherwise alright. "That looked like it hurt. A lot."

Caleb watched as the woman's Charmeleon dashed off to engage another passing traveller. She gave a quick apology to him, before chasing after the fiery lizard. Moments later, a loud crash was heard, as the woman slammed into a large red headed man, sending him flying into the pavement. Caleb soon turned to his feathery companion.

"We should see if we can provide any assistance to those people. After all, its what a gentlemen does. It would also give us an opportunity to gain information on any potential opponents for the tournament." He remarked, and soon walked off towards the assortment of people and Pokemon.

"Aren't you coming?" He asked.

"Com." Raphael responded with, joining his trainer.

"Is anyone hurt?" Caleb asked as he arrived.

"I think... I broke an everything..."

Spiegel watched his trainer writhe on the ground for a few seconds before he shook his head in frustration and tapped one of the Pokeballs on her belt. A bright white flash brought out a second Pokemon, specifically a gigantic boulder. With arms.

"Graveler?" asked the rock of the same name.

"Charmeleon." replied an exasperated Spiegel, pointing at their fallen trainer. The Graveler nodded and used its considerable strength to heft Daria back onto her feet in a single pull. She wobbled for a second, but regained her footing and immediately put a hand on her back. "Oh, wow..."

"That looked like it hurt. A lot."

"Urgh, no kidding." Daria told him, removing her hat to rub some sweat from her forehead. She gave a low whistle as she stretched out her back. She'd hardly had a moment to think before the man with the Combusken came briskly walking over, asking if they were all right.

"Yeah, I think everyone's fine. Uh, sorry about that!" she exclaimed, slapping Remy in the back and clasping a hand over his shoulder. "Spiegel's kinda touchy, he runs off sometimes!" She turned to the little fire lizard and said, "Guess I should watch where I'm going more, huh?"

Spiegel just shrugged, and tapped his own Pokeball to be zapped back inside; he'd had enough for one day. As the red beam zapped him up, he was sure to give a final warning glare at the Combusken that had just arrived with its trainer. That left her Graveler as her only companion at the moment. Daria gave a wide grin and leaned on top of her Graveler's head, who just smiled and waved.

"So, I guess we need some introductions. Name's Daria Pace; this here's Slagger!"

"Graveler! Grav!"

Ryan was walking slowly throughout the streets, untill finally, FINALLY he found a Pokemon Centre. His spirits lifted somewhat, he ran towards it, uncaring of his surroundings. And while in a village running around isn't abnormal, in a city it's much harder. He had almost reached the door, if not for the person in front of him abruptly stopping. Ryan ran full speed into him. While Ryan was hardly shaken by this, the stranger fell on the ground. Ryan wanted to help him up, but instead froze in a similar way as the guy he just ran into. The reason for this was the Haunter that met his gaze. Ryan had never seen such a thing and was horrified to the point of near catatonia.

"So, I guess we need some introductions. Name's Daria Pace; this here's Slagger!" Daria announced, showing off her Graveler; who simply smiled and waved. Caleb noticed that her Charmeleon had already returned to its Pokeball, finishing off with a glare towards Raphael. He then knelt down in front of Slagger, meeting it at eye level. Caleb raised his head towards Daria.

"You certainly have a strong Pokemon here miss, friendly too." Caleb remarked as he stood back up. Raphael had crossed his arms.

"As you can see, you've already met Raphael here. He was my starter back in Littleroot Town. Prefers to remain outside of his Pokeball most times. A strong fighter, and a worthy friend of mine. Care to see the other Pokemon I travel around with?"

"Care to see the other Pokemon I travel around with?"

Daria's face lit up like a fireworks display. "Of course!" she yelled, already looking giddy in anticipation. "I always love sizing up the competition-- ooh, in fact..."

She clutched at her waist and picked three Pokeballs off of her belt, pressing the buttons on all three capsules simultaneously. "Come on out, guys!"

Three white beams of light, and the piercing sounds that accompanied them resounded in the air, before forming the silhouettes of three very different-looking Pokemon. Daria threw out her arms to either side, proudly presenting the quartet of combatants in front of her. To Slagger and Daria's right was Spiegel, yawning and scratching his shoulder in a way to communicate how little he wanted to be out of his Pokeball.

"This is Spiegel! I got him from Professor Oak in Pallet Town."

To Slagger's left was a Hitmonlee, who crossed its arms in a X-shape, and bowed towards Caleb. "Hit, mon lee."

"That's Jet! Kinda got a stick up his rear, but he's dedicated."

The oddest-looking of the group, by far, was on the far left. A Staryu, who immediately moved from her position to spin over towards Raphael, examining him closely as her center gem pulsated. "Hya?"

"And that little lady's called Gemini; One of the trainers at the Cerulean Gym traded her to me; she's real sweet. But I'll make a champ out of her yet!"

With her cornucopia of oddities on full display, Daria crouched down and wrapped her arms around them to draw them into a big group. A look of realization hit her face, and she pointed at the Graveler. "By the way, Slagger was my first Pokemoon, like your Combusken! Trained him up since he was a little Geodude; so anyway, you've seen mine now. So let's see yours!"

Spiegel gave her an askew glance after that last phrase, before shaking his head and muttering something.
