What do you listen to while you play games? I usaually just liten to the game music. But my favorite is the talk radio show in games like gta 4 and saints row. It makes me laugh. So what about you?
In games like GTA i love to listen to the radio. In Fallout 3 its saving grace WAS 3 Dog or the adventures of that one guy and his Ghoul manservent Argile.
But when i play a game being eclipsed by action, like Dynasty Warriors, or......RE5 i just blast real pulse pounding things to keep me interested. God knows(if he existed) that the RE5 story was deplorable.
Depends on how immersive the game is. Most of the time I just put on something else.
Like earlier I was playing Earthbound. Because of the turn-based combat and the slower pace, older jrpgs don't require full attention like some action games, so I put on some Beatles instead, and some Hawkwind before that. Sometimes I even watch episodes of tv shows at the same time. I completed Final Fantasy 4(2) to a marathon of Jericho.
Ninja Gaiden 2 and Devil May Cry on the 360 were played with "Yakety Sax" on repeat.
World of Warcraft is played with musicals and other movies playing in the background.
For shooters I have playlists and this online radio. [http://www.classicfm.nl/]
RPGs are often played with their own music. IMO all Bethesda RPGs I have played had poor music, so I used my own playlists and the same internet radio as above.
I listen to the ambient sounds, or the in game music, unless I'm playing an online shooter, and in that case, I play some fast paced music to make myself a little more paranoid.
MMO's - iTunes
Games with their own radio - talk-shows
Games with crap music - iTunes (sometimes, otherwise I deal with the game music)
Games with good music (I.E. anything with Jack Wall) - The game music
Most of the time, if the in-game music is a big pile of dingo's kidneys, I go for something ludicrously inappropriate. Like Oscar Peterson (when playing RE5, for example).
