So this week's paycheck was larger than I expected, so I have some spare money, and I'm looking into getting a few games off Steam. Are there any Indie games I should give a try? Or any game really, doesn't have to be Indie, but I say that because I've played or own most triple A titles that I want to play.

These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Give them a look or look them up on youtube for more info

Dungeon defenders (best indie game Ive played in the last couple of years)
Legend of Grimmrock
Sanctum
FTL
Mark of the Ninja
Cthulu saves the world and Breath of Dead 7 (bundled together last I looked but hilarious)
Xotic
Skydrift

I cant believe I forgot Frozen synapse, yes look into that one too.

Also some more suggestions after looking through my library

Rock of ages: Another hilarious one
Xenonauts: X-com done in an indie style with a minecraftesque business model
King Arthur 2: Kind of a total war esque game with some dialouge choices in it

I second the bolded ones, I've not played the others.

Second, third, and fourth this. Get the humble bundle. It's awesome, always.

Torchlight 2.
I've been hearing magnificent things, and Torchlight was awesome. Seconded.

Also Lone Survivor, if your into stuff like silent hill.
Was really well made and pretty fun, it's not my cup of tea but if you're in to survival horror it should be right up your alley.

I also recommend:
Hero academy - Really fun asynchronous, turn based, tile based, strategy with various teams which each have a number of units who each fulfill a certain role, you also get the TF2 team for free if you get it on steam and you can crossplay against people who're on iOS.
Botanicula - Really fun and charming point + click adventure with stunning visuals and pretty awesome characterisation using no words or text at all. I really like it.
Katawa Shoujo (because it's free, you can censor the sex stuff I believe.)
The obvious: Braid, Limbo, Deathspank, Machinarium, Bastion

You can also buy a version with better graphics and music (To me!) on Steam. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, though I guess it is an obvious choice.
I also quite liked And Yet It Moves, VVVVVV, and will fourth the Binding of Isaac.

Iji.
Iji.
Iji.

... Iji. It's a free, sprawling sci-fi action shooter with alien races and a great story to it. There really is no reason you wouldn't want to pick it up and give it a try.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone
Audiosurf

All three are wonderful games that I think everyone should at least try the demo of.

I don't play many indie games, frankly. I should. I have a bunch of them.

If you're a fan of Battlestar Galactica or even flight and space sims in general, this free game has a great blend of arcade and full sim.

Flotilla[/link]
A real time strategy in space and a sense of humour. How can you say no to a game with space cats and battles set to classical music?

Trine, Swords and Soldiers HD, Mount and Blade, Altitude, and Anomaly: Warzone Earth. I think they've all got demos, and the one for Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a 1/3 of the game.
