Listen, I know we all know tha Bioware is the golden god king of video game writing, but Sucker Punch just blew 'em out of the water with inFamous 2!

Why? Okay, so the girl who is supposed to be the evil sexy seductress bad girl turns out to be he good one, and the moderately hot semi conservative ice chick is the bad girl! Okay so when you choose to power up the RFI you can choose to either activate it and kill all Conduits(good), or work on becoming totally evil and siding with the Beast to kill all humans and save the Conduits... IT'S FREAKING EPIC!!! I mean I actually had to think about this! Save millions and bring extinction to the Conduit gene carriers or kill humanity and save my own life. That whole Bioware Legion loyalty mission choice is NOTHING compared to this. I'm just telling you now, Bioware better watch out Sucker Punch is gonna take Bioware's pedestal, because THAT was a choice!

*WARNING SUPER SPOILERS AHEAD: TURN AWAY NOW OR HAVE THE ENDING SPOILED*

Also, I loved how it ended: the hero dies, well, a hero; Conduits die but so do the monsters and the rest of humanity lives; and Cole becomes a saint, the patron Saint of New Marais St.Cole MacGrath. You can't that kinda ending anywhere else! Though I'm a little worried now, I thought this was gonna be a trilogy, so what now? Is the NSA gonna clone Cole in order to reintroduce Conduits to the world or is there gonna be a huge bolt of lightning that hits Cole's casket and brings him back to life? Maybe the Conduit gene still exists so Zeke has a son that has the Conduit gene and powers like Cole and names him after his best friend. I dunno, but I know I want more. Oh lawd, raptor Jesus, that was good. Just you watch, Sucker Punch is fixing to start a revolt in the gaming kingdom to place itself on Bioware's throne, and I love it! How'd you like it!?

Whoa. I just had my mind blown man. No other game has ever given me the choice between sacrificing myself or sacrificing others. We might be witnessing the birth of a new form of storytelling.

I loved Infamous 2 (finished hero and infamous playthroughs. I'm thinking of re-doing a good playthrough with a more fluid appraoch to fighting[footnote]As in, less hiding out recharging and spamming nades and stuff, and more chainable combat, like grenade, followed by blasting enemies off the roof, followed by killing the remaining enemies with melee followed by an ice launch to escape the incoming rockets (and face it, InFamous 2 has proven how much Sucker Punch love rockets/grenades)[/footnote] (on hard). Seriously, between ice launch making for thunder-drop melee combos, and frost shield allowing you to both regain energy and get in close range of those big minigunners, I'm thinking that a more 'up close and personal' approach might actually be do-able).

I thought the endings were both fantastic (and I liked Nix in her insane way. She was crazy, but she was so immaturely playful and destructive), but I liked the good ending better (I guess I didn't connect with Zeke as much as other people, because killing him was only slightly hard).

The Sucker Punch method? Because that's what I felt happen when hey dropped that on me I actually backed up a little like,"whoa, what a twist!" Yeah Bioware may have RPGs but Sucker Punch has everything else. We have found our gaming Tolkien, our Stephen King, our Brian Jaques, our gaming Eion Culfer!

Ya I just beat the game bout two days ago (good ending, working on the evil ending now) but I totally agree. The story of Infamous 1 and 2 have to be among my favorites in any video game I've played. The last choice was also really well done where Kuo becomes selfish and turns on you. Just makes me sad that they essentially ended the series :(

P.S. Zeke doesn't have the conduit gene, because he tried to use the ray sphere in Infamous 1 and couldn't get powers.

*Bioware fanboy-allegiance taking over*

The original InFamous's story could have used some help though I'm just saying even though they are both great games. And although I have only played a bit of InFamous 2 I'm not so sure that it quite have the characterization down like Bioware. From what I played of InFamous 2 though I will say it is an absolute blast to play.

To each his own though.

Probably, if you watched the good ending all the way through.
Coles body is in a coffin on a ship going home, with Zeke by it's side. The boat shrinks as it approaches the horizon, then suddenly a bolt of lightning strikes it. You could speculate that Cold is resurrected, but who knows.

That doesn't mean he couldn't be a carrier. Remember Punett Squares you may have learned in Bio? Maybe Conduit genes are recessive ya know cc=Conduit, CC=non-Conduit, and Cc=Non-conduit majority. Maybe Zeke is Cc and finds a girl who is also Cc and make a boy that is cc. See? It can happen? Just because the Conduits died doesn't mean that it's the end if the Conduits. In the X-Men universe a lot of the X-Men had parents that weren't mutants but they were. See what I'm getting at? It's not the end of ALL Conduits just that generation. And Cole could still be alive, if he's hit with a big enough bolt of electricity on that freighter, he could be brought back, it's worked the tens of thousands of times I was close to death.

My one complaint with this game is the AI on both sides, Nix and Kuo are the only smart ones.

Are we going to play Cole on a quest to find surviving Conduits or maybe a girl he fornicates with to repopulate the Conduits or gets cloned? I wanna see him become Kessler dammit! Maybe once he gets his time travel powers he goes back, fights the Beast with past Cole and Conduits live happily ever after with whatever powers he has once he becomes Kessler I'm sure he could kill the Beast with some type of RFI like sword that kills ONLY the Beast.

I choose the good ending as well. I wanted cole to live. I am now sad because that was a good story by sucker punch and they had to end it.

Are you kidding? Sure, Bioware gave us a scientist confronting his unethical bioweapons research, a woman relying on her religion to cope with her daughter's sociopathy, a man deciding between the woman he loves and his kingly duties, and (even in the worst game they made) clever use of a framing mechanism, but Infamous 2 gives us a choice between literal sainthood and literally sacrificing the entire human race for your personal benefit. That's just another level of storytelling, man.

The timeline has changed considerably when Kessler intervened. Cole was supposed to have a kid with his girlfriend, but when Kessler went back in time and killed her off, that ended that portion of time. Since it's implied that every conduit died, it's likely that if Cole comes back, he will be the only one. Also since the Beast is dead in his time, there would be no reason for him to go back to the past to get his past self to do the right thing. This all depends on your interpretation of time.

This is true but... how did Kessler come back and tell Cole of the beast? Was he like a prophet? If Cole dies, there is no Kessler, there for, creating a rip in the space/time Continum!

I have no idea, I still have not beaten the evil side.

i have one problem with the ending and that is the karma system. strip that away and you get a choice sacrifice yourself and all conduits on the off chance that the RFI cures the plague and saves humanity or side with the beast and sacrifice humans and guarantee humanities survival through conduits THAT is an awesome choice. however the i didn't think about that, i thought well i have been evil up to now might as well go all the way, that completely removed any impact the choice really had. I have the same problem with mass effect. Dragon age has rather lackluster choices but the lack of karma system allows me to decide what i believe is the best choice in the given situation not what Bioware or Suckerpunch tells me is right or wrong

Don't take this the wrong way, but I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Damn lack of inflections in text.

Yeah, not like Fallout 3 did that... oh wait.

Now give me a moment to cry that inFamous doesn't exist on PC.
