When I listen to Cole's new voice, most of the time I expect him to suddenly burst into a rambling account of the time that he and his buddy Zeke decided to make homemade fireworks.

"Well Zeke figure, gasoline burns, right...?"

But on the plus side, watching him beat the shit out of Blacklight victims with an electric mace makes it all worth it.
Wasn't blacklight the virus in Prototype? Although these mutants do look very similar...

I want a PS3 so I can play the first one! Also all the ratchet and clank games. And God of War. And Heavy Rain... But I don't want to sell my 360... I need more money.

I don't get what you have against the change of looks? The old cole was the more generic man ever.

I mean just look at this

They look the same. There isn't an ounce of creativity in cole's original design.

inFamous was a fantastic game and I have beaten it 3 times (still can't find those last three blast shards) but Cole sucked. They changed Cole for a reason, he looked boring and his voice was weird, and he had a bunch of super-cool powers but was never having any fun.

I'm sure plenty of people are going "You would too" and I get your point, but this isn't real life, it's a video game. If the video game is fun then I'll have fun. But if the character is having fun with me, then it's more fun.

Yes, he kind of looks like a douche, but it's still inFamous and the game is still going to kick ass. I prefer his new voice and while his new design isn't perfect it's still better than the old Cole.

And about Nolan North, yeah he's used a lot, but he's got a voice that works well in games so we'll be fine.

Yes it was, and that was sort of the point. I like to think that Crackdown, [PROTOTYPE], and inFAMOUS all take place in the same universe, and each one is part of a plan between Microsoft and Sony to tell the greatest superhero story of the decade while pulling in money hand-over-fist for both of them.

It always confused me, Cole McGrath was an ugly rough looking skinhead with a ridiculously gravelly voice and Alex Mercer is actually pretty hot and does have a bit of a gravelly voice but not as bad. Yet Cole is the one who has a girlfriend... hardly seemed fair. Maybe it'll suit him a bit more with his new persona :p

Edit - he's not a skinhead but he is bloody ugly. Dunno who I was thinking of.

I honestly think a lot more people complained about the old Cole than people going "oh hey, this guy is just fine and dandy. I can totally understand why he looks and sounds like crap, he was in the middle OF AN EXPLOSION!" I can deal with the hair growing, and tattoos and clothes, but from my limited knowledge on the subject, vocal cords don't seem like they heal so well. I very well could be wrong but that's what it seems like to me from most people I've met that have messed up voices from smoking, or what have you...

That's the main reason people fell in love with Cole. He DID have fun with his powers. Especially when going down the evil side. But yet he also acted like a real human would with the powers. A SMART human. Knowing to be careful with it and everything. Sure it is a video game, but they wanted to add a little realistic touch to it, y'know?

And Nolan North only plays characters that are good looking wise asses. He does nothing BUT. I like his games and characters and all, but I am only saying that that is what Nolan North does.

To many people Cole looked like an angry potato, just look at Yahtzee's review (though offended? That's a bit too strong of a word). You may personally not mind Cole's original aesthetic, but that does not make it the be-end-of-all answers. Many people did, including myself, he practically looked in his late 30's now that I think about it, especially if you went the evil route (though one could argue that would be the point, but whatever). While he's meant to look like an average guy, that doesn't mean he can't look at least half-way decent, most "average" guys are.
All I'm getting from this is that people want to play as pretty boys. Oh, and young ones, too. Can't have any mid 30s protagonists, can we? Seems people don't want to participate in a story with actual characters who differ from the same ideal hero blueprint.

You may not have had a problem with it, but obviously other people did, and Sucker Punch, while I admit is overreacting, is just trying to make the game easier on the ears for everyone else.
And they've gotten enough of a backlash to consider further adjustments because they forgot that the people who like or don't mind the original Cole weren't making a huge deal about it. There's no point compromising the continuity of your own strongly story-based game if you don't have to, and there's a good chance they didn't have to.

Personally, I don't mind the new model. The voice, I can agree on, but the new model I don't see why people are getting worked up, especially considering that the game isn't even 10% done yet and the character model is still going through changes. Just give Sucker Punch a chance and let's see what they come up with.
Hate the new model and voice, but as you say, they're still making changes. I hope they can find some middle ground.

About the ice powers, Cole is a conduit, that means that the ray sphere can give him powers, but it doesn't mean that those are the only powers he's limited to

Yeah, that's what I had forgotten. He is the most powerful Conduit alive. Meaning he just has powers, but not limited to just one. The Ray Sphere could have effected the powers already in his body. I know where you are coming from.

Woooo!! Sucker Punch has listened to the fans' cries and has finally changed Cole back to a better module more fitting his old appearance, albeit a scar, which doesn't look too hoorible compared to his old new look xD
