They beat prototype to it with a rushed release and mopped up the good superhero game ratings. :p

I don't know if it'll sell well, but I know it's a well made game, and I'm going to buy it.
I'm gonna buy Prototype, and it'll probably be good too, since unlike some people, I think both games can be good.

I played the game at a friend's who wrote a review about it.

It's stealing elements from Assassin's Creed (you can literaly climb up everything without rerouting), GTA (open world), Fable (obvious good/evil choices, Marvel/DC (cutscenes are voiced, stylish cutscenes) and Sly Cooper (i.e. running on cables)
The thing that struck me is how well all the elements are combined and how good the gameplay is, despite some problems. I'd rate it with at least 8.5

Infamous is a huge hit for Sony. Haze had shoddy procution value, a forced release date, and it showed when the game was released. Sucker Punch did a great job with this game and PS3 owners are going to love it. This game is absolutely nothing like a Haze or a whatever other game you said.

And to the guy above, you do know Sucker Punch made Sly right? If you didn't, that's pretty good that you picked out that reference.

I don't think it's a bad thing that it mixes in all these different elements. If anything, it made one hell of a unique experience.

I'm still of the opinion it would have been wiser to bundle the game with the God Of War III demo.
Definitely agreed. If only for the fact that I wanna play GoW3 now.

If you have both systems it sort of comes down to which super powers you enjoy more, mutation or electricity. Other than the powers the games look pretty similar, with the only difference being that infamous is supposedly shorter and more linear, with prototype being slightly more free roam.

Hopefully they're both solid games. They both look sweet though, and anyone who says "INFAMOUS R FAIL LOLOL" or w/e is probably just a 360 fanboy.

Accusing a game of "stealing" game play elements in this day and age is out and out ridiculous, because quite frankly, because where do you pick your jumping off point? By your reasoning every game is ripping off Super Mario Brothers on the NES because you could jump and get power-ups, and since a modern game with no jump feature would not only be boring but stupid, every game must be stealing from Mario...

Ign - 9.2
Gamspot - 9

Anything over an 8 imo is a hit, except for some but imo, it's more fun than GTA4 and I've only played the demo too and I have the full GTA4 game and beaten it.
If you look at gamespot and ign's reviews you need help. seriously.

They rated The Last Remnant over 8.0. Rent it and try to play for more than an hour. I dare you. It's that bad. It's not just bad as a game, it's even bad as a JRPG. And that says something.
The Last Remnant isn't a bad game. It's not brilliant, but it's hardly bad. It's a fairly generic by-the-numbers JRPG with a interesting combat system. I've had fun playing it and I'd rate it about 7.5-8.0, perhaps a few extra points for being a JRPG on the PC.

As for Gamespot, aside from that review scandal a while back, I've found their reviews to be generally good, informative and fair. If I want to see some game bashing for the fun of it, I'll watch ZP.

Could you please tell me about the review scandal? I visit The Escapist for only like a few months, and didn't heard anything about a scandal.

Definately not another Haze... at least by my impression of the demo...

It actually feels VERY different from every Open World Superhero game I've ever played and I imagine that it'll even feel REALLY different from Prototype...

I imagine Prototype will be the BEST example of the typical "Open World" super hero game.

I own an xbox360, wii and PS3 as well as a high-powered rig.
From what I have seen it is a very good game, even great, I shall review it.
I guess you need all of the above to review a game?

Not an escapist review scandal...a Gamespot review scandal. This dude, Jeff G., used to work at Gamespot but was fired after he put out a horrible review for Kane and Lynch. It's rumored that the makers of Kane and Lynch got pissed because they spent so much money on Gamespot advertising. The internet was abuzz with it. Google it, because there's a lot more than what I just wrote.

Enough with the God of War. I can obviously see this is probably your most anticipated game of this year (or probably of all time).

Plus, I don't think the game's far enough to make a demo of it.
Well, they surely do have a pretty large portion of the game made, but they usually don't give out demos to games that are not yet going to be released soon.

Uncharted 2 is just so close.
But yeah, GoW III demo would've been enough for me to purchase.
I'll purchase inFAMOUS anyway, but that would be sweet (icing on the cake).
