Definitely agreed. If only for the fact that I wanna play GoW3 now.Indigo_Dingo said:I'm still of the opinion it would have been wiser to bundle the game with the God Of War III demo.
Accusing a game of "stealing" game play elements in this day and age is out and out ridiculous, because quite frankly, because where do you pick your jumping off point? By your reasoning every game is ripping off Super Mario Brothers on the NES because you could jump and get power-ups, and since a modern game with no jump feature would not only be boring but stupid, every game must be stealing from Mario...Xerosch said:I played the game at a friend's who wrote a review about it.
It's stealing elements from Assassin's Creed (you can literaly climb up everything without rerouting), GTA (open world), Fable (obvious good/evil choices, Marvel/DC (cutscenes are voiced, stylish cutscenes) and Sly Cooper (i.e. running on cables)
The thing that struck me is how well all the elements are combined and how good the gameplay is, despite some problems. I'd rate it with at least 8.5
The Last Remnant isn't a bad game. It's not brilliant, but it's hardly bad. It's a fairly generic by-the-numbers JRPG with a interesting combat system. I've had fun playing it and I'd rate it about 7.5-8.0, perhaps a few extra points for being a JRPG on the PC.skathe said:If you look at gamespot and ign's reviews you need help. seriously.rockingnic said:Ign - 9.2
Gamspot - 9
Anything over an 8 imo is a hit, except for some but imo, it's more fun than GTA4 and I've only played the demo too and I have the full GTA4 game and beaten it.
They rated The Last Remnant over 8.0. Rent it and try to play for more than an hour. I dare you. It's that bad. It's not just bad as a game, it's even bad as a JRPG. And that says something.
You've been using that analogy a lot lately, haven't you?Leorex said:infamous is like a penguin. its cute, but is a penguin.
Could you please tell me about the review scandal? I visit The Escapist for only like a few months, and didn't heard anything about a scandal.Jandau said:As for Gamespot, aside from that review scandal a while back, I've found their reviews to be generally good, informative and fair.
I guess you need all of the above to review a game?Danzorz said:I own an xbox360, wii and PS3 as well as a high-powered rig.
From what I have seen it is a very good game, even great, I shall review it.
Not an escapist review scandal...a Gamespot review scandal. This dude, Jeff G., used to work at Gamespot but was fired after he put out a horrible review for Kane and Lynch. It's rumored that the makers of Kane and Lynch got pissed because they spent so much money on Gamespot advertising. The internet was abuzz with it. Google it, because there's a lot more than what I just wrote.herr.Didi said:Could you please tell me about the review scandal? Enough with the God of War. I can obviously see this is probably your most anticipated game of this year (or probably of all time).Indigo_Dingo said:I'm still of the opinion it would have been wiser to bundle the game with the God Of War III demo.
I understood that it wasn't and Escapist scandal, but I would of heard about here. Thx for the infot.tocs said:Not an escapist review scandal...a Gamespot review scandal.
