My two favourite series are Silent Hill and Splinter Cell. I found both recent releases (Homecoming and Conviction respectively) to have flaws that took away significantly from the series that I love.

For Silent Hill: Homecoming, I could not stand not being able to invert the camera as I prefer to play with flight controls.

For Splinter Cell: Conviction, I did not like the game lacking interaction.

I have read enough Game of Thrones to know that bastards cannot inherit the throne.
William The Conquerer was a bastard, hence his other name: William the Bastard :)
Yes but he seized the throne, he didn't inherit it. Hence his main name: William the Conqueror ;)
But he did succeed his father as the Duke of Normandy. So Bastards can take their father's titles.

They just have to be on the look out for their father's wife (looking at you zombie Cat!)

I've started playing The Darkness on PS3 twice now and enjoyed the first 30-45 mins. Then, after I left Jackie's girlfriend's apartment, I died a couple of times because the looseness of the controls really became noticeable and I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to (hide behind some cover, shoot certain enemies). Exact same thing happened both times and I couldn't be bothered putting the effort in to get used to it... console FPS is just not my thing.

It was a really promising game too.
You start to get used to the game's controls as it goes on, I do recommend you continue playing it. It is a very good game.

The sequel is also coming out on the PC so hopefully the looseness wont return

Well now I'm going to have to give it attempt #3 thanks to you two... I think I'll start from that point this time though instead of restarting from the beginning. That might help.

If it was 'insignificant' then I would not let it ruin my game.

The only slightly related example I can think of is when I get really into a games online and start getting annoyed at other people who are new to the game...
