InstallShield Error [SOLVED]

Ok, so here is some background info. I have a copy of The original Knights of The Old Republic that I felt the urge to play in the past couple of days, but of course I had just uninstalled it in the past couple of months. I'm running Vista 32 bit OS and as I said the game worked fine before so this is not the problem.

When I try to install the game it goes right to "An installation support file could not be installed. Catastrophic Failure." I've tried reinstalling the InstallShield Engine, Googleing the problem, and looking up the error on the InstallShield site (they have an error like the one I have but not exactly. I tried the solution anyway) all to no avail. I even went as far as downloading a torrent in case it was something wrong with my disk.

So, if you guys have any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. This is the only forum I'm ever really on so if you think I should post this on another site where people might have better idea let me know.

Install shield, I have not heard that name in a very long time. I have thus far been unable to get my copy of KTOR to run on my computer which is 7 x64, so I am afraid besides using compatibility mode (which may work for you) I have no suggestions.

Try reinstalling in compatibility mode.

I wasn't able to get it to work using compatibility mode, safe mode, or as running as admin.

Then you are SOL unless you emulate XP through a virtual machine. That is not guaranteed though.

Thanks for your help guys. I was able to figure it out using Revo Uninstaller. it found some registry files that I had missed.
