Whatever, just wash your hands.
so after the news about origin being required for bf3 Im 2nd guessing my preorder on it. Im not buying cod but Im starting to keep an eye out for the other games that are coming out around then to see if any of them spark my fancy enough to make me not care about bf3.

so are you still getting bf3, if not what other game are you getting instead?

currently Im paying most attention to rage or dead island, yeah I know they require steam and that annoys me but I already use steam so Im willing to accept it, I dont want another digital thing taking up hd space, I had impulse for awhile and never used it aside from playing sins of a solar empire

Edit: Ugh, I didnt think I would have to see this thread again but ea continues to be stupid, now they are getting rid of an ingame menu and just going with a web browser to play the game, it took me a bit but Ive figured out why I hate this, its just a slightly different version of the always on drm that ubisoft has, its just that instead of it being in game, you need it to launch the game. So unless they fix it, which they wont, Im once again looking for other things to spend my money on

I want to get BF3, but I'm going to hold out until 2012. I'll be picking up Resistance 3 along with PS Move when it comes out next month.

BF3 is just a "I'll get to it when I get to it" sort of thing, but I'm stoked for Saints Row The Third.

I might be a console player.

I won't whine about smaller map space, as long as I get planes or jets, I'll be cool

Course I am still getting BF3. MW requires you to install Steam and so does every other Valve game. I see no issue here with installing Origin. Its already installed actually, 106 MB isn't much at all.

I'm going to wait for BF3 to become cheaper before I get it through Origin, primarily because EA has a pretty bad launch history in regards to supporting day 1 bugs. Also I seriously doubt that Origin will be able to handle the load of people downloading the game on launch. Hell steam suffers terribly and they've been doing this for how long?
That and I'm a bit lukewarm to the battlefield series, I enjoy it for like 2 or so weeks and then move on to something else.

Luckily, I don't enjoy playing video games on computers. But I've always been a fan of the Battlefield series.

I'm getting BF3 on my 360 so it doesn't really bother you. I guess I'm not much of a pc person, but does Origin really require that much space?

Rage is looking pretty awesome, and Skyrim is gonna be epic too.
Woo epic fall games!

My system never had the specs to play BF3. I use Origin for Mirror's Edge though and have no complaints. Origin isn't a valid reason not to get BF3 - if you're second guessing your pre-order, you didn't really want the game in the first place. I'm not sure off hand what I'd get instead of BF3, as for shooters I'm still quite happy playing Unreal Tournament.

I won't be getting BF3

The three FPS coming out soon which I was interested in are BF3, which I'm not getting, MW3, which I'm on the border on, and Red Orchestra 2. I'll probably be getting Red Orchestra 2 if any of them.

its not the size, its who runs it and having another one to have to have running in the back ground, if I did get it chances are I would end up putting it on my steam list so I could have the steam overlay but I dont know if I would want to do that with origin running in the back ground also, not to mention I wouldnt be surprised if ea did something so it wouldnt run with the steam overlay at all

steam is begrudgingly accepted ea shit is still ea shit and I didnt like having the ea dl thing on my comp, this seems a bit more intrusive so I might decide to just not fuck with it at all

Still probably getting bf 3 for the 360. Admittedly I haven't looked into what origin actually is at all so that might change when I get around to it. If it's just another website I have to make an account for it won't matter. But if it's something I'll have to pay for then screw it. I'll have all the game I want by the time bf3 is out so if I don't get it I'll hold onto my $60.

Already have BF3 on preorder and I couldn't possibly hate Origin anymore than I hate Steam so I really don't care.

Yes, I'm going to get BF3 and CoD for my FPS fix. Both have been great to me (Save Bad Company 2), so I see no reason not to buy them.
Personally Rage looks boring and Dead Island appears to be all hype, so I'm not too interested in them at the moment.

I'm not even interested in Battlefield 3 or Origin, but I've got Deus Ex HR on pre-order, I just bought some old stuff from Steam (and I'm planning to swap some gifts I have lying around for more), September sees the release of Driver San Fransisco and Gears of War 3 (if you own a 360), and after those wear off, in November, Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, the 'final' version of Minecraft and Cave Story 3D all come out at about the same time.

Ask yourself this:

How much is this really affecting the gameplay and my enjoyment of the game?

The answer is, clearly; very very little. You can just turn Origin off when you stop playing and not have it auto-launch when you boot your PC. Honestly, when you just ignore it, I expect that you'll barely notice it's there.

So yes, because of that I'll still get it. I won't actively endorse Origin, I probably won't actively use it and I don't like it either, but in the end I doubt that it's going to negatively affect my experience all that much.
