I don't care about Origin. It's a download manager. You can turn it off once you start the game. And I'm sure they'll fix it by the time BF3 is out. Still, I'm not gonna get it right away because:

1. I play single player games more
2. A lot of SP games are coming out in that time
3. I have to see what's new Counter Strike like first. If I like it, I won't need a new FPS game in a long time

I don't feel the BF3 hype. Sure it's going to be an awesome game made primarily for PC, but I don't play a lot of FPS games and I certainly don't play a lot of multiplayer games.

its still another thing to start up and stop when I want to play, not to mention that doing a digital thing like this is hard, people dont seem to think it is, but it is, microsoft still hasnt got it right and games for windows has been out for years, steam started out pretty sucky also before they worked it out and they still have some trouble with big launches on it, origin is a brand new one of these and bf3 is shaping up to be a huge release so what are the odds it will even work when the game is released
For comparison, I can't even find an EXE to launch L4D that I have installed with Steam. So maybe, just maybe, people need to realise that the negative feelings they've got towards Origin really stem from Steam being such an intrusive "service", and that they should really be divesting themselves of Steam rather than sucumbing to Stockholm syndrome and defending it.
actually its sounding like bf3 will have a similar thing, you may not need origin running but it sounds like now it requires you to start the game from a website, sounds like there is no ingame menu system so bf3 probably wont have an executable either and it will just be tied to a web browser to start the game
