It's only a matter of time before this video is posted so I might as well do it.
Back On-topic, this made me laugh so much, I love when governments/companies get caught up in their own stupid rules or laws.

Well if we're going with funny piracy videos, this one gets pretty cringeworthy about 1 minute in...

I also loved the fact that the MPAA got caught downloading various torrents, then claimed that IP-based evidence wasn't strong enough, and that it could have been someone else using their servers. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

I couldn't even make it to the 1 minute mark.

On topic

HAHAHA. God I hated that thing at the start of DVDs and knowing that they stole the music for it is just fantastically hypocritical. Way to completely undermine the message of the ads guys

Also don't pirate like those telling you not to pirate. That make lots of sense.

Actually if we're going to be technically correct about it, it's not "piracy" but rather "unauthorised use" which has a slightly different set of issues surrounding it, but it's still pretty funny and still relevant to SOPA.

I have a very serious question, that no has yet answered, what exactly is this SOPA? What does it do? is it a domestic law?

Point taken, but non-commercial piracy is simply unauthorized use, which is what those ads were speaking out against. A pirate didn't pay for permission to experience the product, so it's unauthorized. Technically speaking, what the MPAA did is worse, because they were profiting off of someone's work without compensation. It's actually closer to commercial piracy in that sense.

There's not much I can add here... I will say that I'm not entirely surprised, though. Freaking contracts, how do they work?

The Wiki in this case is actually reasonably good. Give it a read.

It was posted here before. I think it was actually in the news content.

Doesn't really matter much, since I think people are too uptight about the search bar if it's not routinely posted. Plus, it's REALLY funny.

I just want to say that...

... Has been the desktop picture on both the laptop I've owned.

I remember when that little clip used to be on every DVD and it was unskippable. There's another one though that's better though. I'll see if I can't find it.

Fair enough if you did search and I cannot remember if it was this add but there was an Escapist news post about this exact thing but as I said it could have been a different advert.

thanks for the link, it seems to be a US bill, but damn, that thing is going to cripple a lot of areas on the internet, but still do nothing against piracy. please forgive the language, but what morons came up with this idea and thought it would help?!

Wait... couldn't it have been? I mean, if that argument works for others accused of the same thing, why would you immediately dismiss it because its a side you don't support? Still hypocritical, but we don't know for sure if they did pirate.....

HAHAHAHA That is amazing! I'm still laughing away.

On topic, I don't pirate, and I don't have the disposable income to pay for everything I'd like to watch/listen to. But these hypocritical lawmakers are just making a mockery out of any moral high ground. Seriously, I respect people's intellectual property rights, but why bother if I am pretty much the only person in the world doing so?
