I recently tried an experiment, I made a form of milk liquor using a recipe that I found on Gizmodo. I also took some time to try making skittle vodka, both of which were fun and tasty. So I was wondering if any escapists have other interesting alcoholic concoctions? Maybe you made some moonshine in your bathtub or found an unusual but tasty mixture.. Share it!

These look fun, tasty and above all easy to make. I'll have to try them out this weekend, I think the only ingredient I need to buy is the lime vodka.

Do you use Jose Gold or the clear tequila? I'm also assuming you strain after the 2 weeks? Prob with some cheese cloth or coffee filters.

Nah. Leave them in the bottle. I mean danish dried apricots so they swell up pretty nicely and stay in the bottle as you pour.

There's also infusing coffee beans for a fortnight in your favourite white spirit. Dissolve some sugar in water for sweetness and you're a few espresso martinis away from a heart attack.

Best Espresso Martini

30ml Strong coffee. Chilled.
50ml Coffee Infused Vodka
15ml Liqor43

Sugar syrup to taste.

1) Mix ingredients

2) Taste, adjust to taste.

3) Shake over ice

4) Taste, adjust to taste.

5) Strain as Martini.

6) Garnish with coffee beans.

7) Repeat.

8) Heart Attack.

Ah, are danish dried apricots different from regular dried apricots?

Danish apricots are whole (No stone) and aren't as dry as regular dried apricots. You know those apricots on danishes? Funnily enough that's a Danish apricot. you can buy them in the dried fruit section in Australia... God knows it you have something as organic as that if you live in the US.....

I can probably pick that sort of thing up at Whole Foods or Sunflower or Fresh and Easy. Thanks for the clarifications. I tried to google danish dried apricots, but all I could really find was info about danishes.

I guess regular dried apricots would be fine but I've only ever used danish apricots so results may vary. My guess is if you use completely dried apricots you'll need more because they have less water.

...Or they could be more intense. I'm not sure.

There is this recipe as well

Apricot Infused Tequila

Ingredients

1/2 liter decent tequila ( Sauza Hornitos, but you could definitely use something cheaper)
10 ounces dried apricots

Method

In a 1 liter glass jar, combine the tequila and the apricots. Let them infuse for about two days. Give the bottle an occasional swirl.

Simple! This recipe will make about 15 two-ounce shots. The resulting fruit is delicious, but extremely powerful. When my tequila was gone, I reserved most of the fruit and stuck it in my freezer. I plan to blend it with some ice and lime juice this summer for a refreshing cocktail.

Or I could add the apricots to a chiken tajine in a weird Mexican Moroccan fusion thing.

Moroccan tequila fajita's here I come.

Since someone's already posted one of the recipes, I'll just leave this here...

http://www.thedrunkenmoogle.com/

Also, I've always wanted to make Skittles Vodka, but never got round to it.

Is there a special way to mix that? I looks like you would pour the Baileys over the back of a spoon to float it.

I actually made the MW3 Frag Grenade from that site, it's a fun and good tasting drink. The only problem with most of the drinks on the drunken moogle is they are either complicated or require lots of specially colored booze to get the coloration.

Peach snapps first, then pour the Baileys so it slides down the edge of the glass into the snapps, rather than straight into it. Similar to how you pull a pint, except you don't tilt the glass. Then add the grenadine.

Here's a simple drink.

Take some whipped cream vodka and add it an orange soda. The results are a liquid dreamsicle that gets you trashed because it tastes fantastic and you don't really notice the alcohol.

Can be kinda...chewy if the ratios get fucked up though.
