Perhaps not an Easter egg, but in the beginning of Half-Life: Blue Shift there's a tunnel named "South Tunnel" but a locked blast door prevents you from going further down the tunnel. In the end of the game, you end up at one of Black Mesa's exits. A sign above the tunnel says "South Tunnel Access, Length 5 Miles."

I find it a bit amusing that the resonance cascade threw Barney almost right to the exit but he still had to make one hell of a detour to escape.

What is the most random and fun easter egg you have found in a game?

For me it is this...

While playing Fallout 3 I stubled across a computer in the museum of technology that had I note from a guy that was comprised of lyrics by industrial band Fear Factory, and the fictional scientist's name was B.Bell.. the name of the singer in said band.

Obviously this is only really exciting to people who are fans of the band but I thought it was really cool.

Thats awesome. What song was it?
It's the (awesome) title track from Archetype where he sings 'The infection has been removed... the soul of this machine has been improved'...

In Fallout 2 you come across the bridge of death from Monty Pythons Holy Grail, and you have to answer the questions correctly. That one was great.
Also, when you come across that time-portal thing from an early episode of Star Trek and you accidentally break the water chip in Vault 13, thus causing the events from Fallout.

And Duke Nukem 3D is littered with so many 90's references. My favorite reference, although not from the 90's, was at the end of the first level in the fourth act where you walk down the hallway and all the different doors open automatically and you go down an elevator hidden in a telephone booth. Get Smart reference, yay!
Did you try asking a question back at him?
His robes are equal to combat armor, and I got him at a reaaalllllyyyy early time so I was ahead of the game for about four towns.
I did.
And He exploded.
And it was great.
And the Lord Saw it was Good, and it was Good, and all were satisfied.

Although you can also encounter Arthur and his knights and such as well. They even have a small group of NPCs following them, most of them doing the "clip-clop" over their heads, and one singing the "Oh brave Sir Robin!' song.
option:"have you seen vault 13?"
Arthur: "Ah yes, it was over yonder." (points in a random direction.) "Now tell me good sir, have you seen the Holy Grail?"
Option: "Yes. It was over yonder." (point in random direction).

In World of Warcraft during their fake valentines day celebration, in the Undead city and other places you can find little mock Companion Cubes scattered around. They're wooden crates with hearts and ribbons attached, but the first time I saw it I was highly amused.

Oh, man, the Insomniac Museums were great. But MGS had the best shit. The Gamecube in Otacon's office you could mess with. Giving Pliskin the razor so he's cleanshaven later. Mei Ling beating up Otacon if you save enough times. The Boss mimicking Ocelot's fingerguns. Sunny dancing to that one JPop song. Lotsa goodies. :3

In Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight you're on a mercenary-killin' rampage through a village and a civilian sees you coming and runs and hides inside his house. He locks the door behind him, but if you hit Force Speed before you get to him and Force Jump over the river nearby instead of going over the bridge you can enter the house ahead of him. Inside is Max from the Sam & Max adventure games, also by Lucasarts. He just stands there, and appears to be invulnerable, but he's still an awesome inclusion :)

I remember this one. It was pretty cool. I also remember you could actually get him to go outside and kill everything in sight if you hit him enough (or something like that).
What? Time to dig out my old copy of Jedi Knight! I remember it chugged a bit on my original PC- a P120 with a 3DFX Voodoo (1) add-on card connected to the 2D graphics card by an external lead. It ought to run at what, eight, nine hundred FPS on a new(ish) rig?

Nobody is going to remember these but anyway

Dark Forces, on one level (ice level, you entered a imperial complex and got out using bespin like tubes) if you made your way into a certain area, and pulled up your map while running around in it, you'd find Max's face.

Also there was a hidden room on another level that had an ewok who you could shoot and he'd turn into a pile of ashes.

Stuff from Halo 3: All the Firefly and Serenity references voiced by Adam Baldwin, Nathan Fillion, and Alan Tudyk themselves, the ape man, the floating cardboard cutout of Jason Jones, the co-founder of Bungie, only wearing a pair of boxers, the monkey man, and the grunt on the last level that tells you a bunch of secrets and stuff.

In fable 2, behind a demon door you can find Terry Cotter's Army...which is made of a ceramic material.

I don't think you can destroy them though.
You can destroy them.

It was weird reading the journal entry.

It actually weirded me out so much that i destroyed as many terry cotter soldiers as possible.

Aah, Easter eggs. I could name more but these mainly spring to mind:

Upon damaging a wall in Quake 3 on Q3DM11, a small room containing some shotgun shells and a floating dopefish [{url}], an enemy from the original Commander Keen games, were revealed.

In Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, picking up a health pill in the level Serpent Yards revealed a pair of giant floating eyes in the sky behind you. Upon shooting the eyes, a giant kamikaze bomber would spawn, spontaneously exploding a few seconds later, which is the scariest thing I have seen in my life.

In Unreal Tournament: 2004, on the level Deck 17, in the room containing the Bio Rifle, there is a cordoned-off section with the lights out, looking suspiciously like the main hallway with the sniper rifle. In front of it is a barricade labelled "Deck 16 - closed for renovations" (or something along those lines) which is the original level from UT99 Deck 17 was based on.

In Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia (the Xbox one, haven't played the PS3 one), aside from references to Evil Dead and so forth, there is actually a Red vs Blue reference. If you play as Zach (not gotten to this point with other characters but I think only he says it), when you first get into the tank, he says the model number of the tank in RvB, and then says "I will call you Sheila."

WoW has the best. I love Nat Pagle (Pat Nagle, one of the devs) and Hin Denberg, the zepelin master. As well as Haris Pilton & Granny Smith

And Scooty, the teleport guy, has a counterpart called Sprock ;)

I remember in Quake II close to the end of one of the levels, you could catch a Tank Commander boning a strogg or something and in Quake III Arena, one of the characters is Tank Jr.

That crop circle in MGS4 creeped me out.
On the mission where your chasing down Naomi's kidnappers, if you take a certain path near the lake, you'll find a circle of grass twisted into a mini crop circle. If you stand in the middle of it, Snake has a flashback where he hears the A.I. Campbell from Sons Of Liberty talking about seeing a bright light while driving.
