I feel your browsing speed is more dependant on your computer and internet speeds over your browser, but if you have a slow computer complicated browsers such as Opera will perform more slowly compared to simpler ones because they take less processing power to run, but then again if you have a fast computer you couldent really tell if one browser id faster than the other.

Not so sure about this. I recently purchased a shiny new macbook some time ago, a couple months at best. It was a macbook pro, upgraded version with faster processing and the first thing I did was download my desired programs such as firefox, AIM and so on and so forth. Then a situation arose where I needed four different browsers open. Firefox and chrome did admirable, as did safari though not as wonderfully as firefox. Opera still moved somewhat slower than all three.

Iunno, it could just be me.

Firefox always has and always will be (most likely) my browser of choice. It looks good, it works well and its really easy to use and navigate.

Opera, Firefox, Safari, Chrome or any other major browser.. as long as it isn't Internet Explorer.

Personally I use Opera, Firefox, Safari AND Chrome, depending on what browser is installed. (home I got all, but mostly use Opera. in school, it's either Firefox or Chrome on PC, Safari on mac)

It's really just about preference though, you should try all of them out and see which one fits you the best.

I use Firefox and Internet Exploder at the same time, though frequently for different things. For example, all my sensitive stuff, like things I need to log in for, gets done in Firefox, but i steam Youtube or go to fan sites through IE.

Firefox might be a good jump from Chrome. It's customizable to your needs and very reliable. Chrome may have the better layout and speed, but I find it unreliable at times.

I like Firefox, mainly due to its customisability and it's speed once it gets running. I'm on a old PC, and I'm rather unimpressed with Chrome's speed (or the lack therof), especially with multiple tabs. (Then again, single core processor) Firefox is generally faster for me, but I find it's very slow to start up (compared to Chrome, which starts up in seconds). Ultimately, Firefox > IE any day of the week. Chrome is alright if you don't mind customisation. Or Google tracking your sites.

chrome stays the hell out of my way. All it is is my bookmarks and address bar. If you're into the bare minimum, Chrome is great. If you want a swiss(well, I woudl say swiss army knife if it did everything it did WELL, but it doesn't) so Firefox is more of a jack of all trades- master of none.

I like Safari. It just works really damn well. I don't like how Firefox gets all up in my face all the time.

Firefox because I can do whatever I want with it. People complain it is bloated, but if you remove your add-ons and make it Chrome-like, it easily runs as efficiently.

Firefox is good for me, and it's really useful in the field of downloading videos off the Escapist without paying for the Publisher's Club.
It also has tons of add-ons, like scrolling down and automatically loading the next page.

EDIT: I have seven add-ons and it runs fine. It takes about 12 seconds to load, but once you're in it's fine.
12 seconds to load FF?? I have 14 add-ons yet it only takes 4 at the most

I'm running a dual core 2.0GHz processor and thats low end for a desktop, is your processor a dorito?

Well Firefox is currently the most popular, but i prefer Google Chrome =) nice and simple and no huge address bar clogging the top of the screen =)

I use Firefox 3.6. It's fast and multitudes more customizable than Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

I used to use Chrome, but then I found out Google monitors your search history, and then I was like, "dude...."

And then I switched to Firefox 3 and was like, "Dude!"
So... What happened when you switched to Firefox?

I use Google chrome. Before that I used Firefox, until tab kit got incompatible with the new version, haven't bothered check if they updated it. Also use IE instead of using in private window.

I just use Firefox. IE is far too unstable and Chrome's interface annoys me.
