In Assassin's Creed 2, when you come across your Uncle Mario for the first time, he says "Don't you remember me? It's a-me! Mario!"

I cracked up for two minutes straight.
I was like, "FUCK!"

Anyway, a theory as to why he uses that slang is that, because the Animus uses the user's thoughts to 'translate' the characters as effectively as possible, because the Uncle introduced himself as Mario, the Animus detected Desmond's subconsious of Super MArio- and thus put that quote in to relax him a bit.
You just ruined it...
Or did I?

Can't believe noone's posted this one yet.

You have to skip to the end of the video though.
And on that note, alot of games have had some sort of giant enemy crab monster somewhere.

No, you really did ruin it.
Well, at least it acknowledges the One Mario Limit.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl:

"Now, Professor, hand over the documents before we cause MASSIVE DAMAGE to your assistant."

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver:

"A winner is you!"

It seems that the current producer for the Pokémon games is a massive internet fan, so he knows all of the memes and goes to great lengths to put them in the games.

Timesplitters series, especially in future perfect When a marine yells "They're coming out of the walls! They're coming outta the Goddamn walls!!!"

There is lots of brilliant stuff in that game.

It's a game called Heavenly Sword. It's good fun, although a little on the short side.

Well, it's either the Animus inserted it or Mario Auditore took up plumbing in his spare time (when not being an assassin).
