Internet Sound Issue

Now, I assume this is probably the wrong site to post this on, so sorry if I'm disobeying any rules. But I haven't found a solution and this is driving me up the wall.

On the internet, after a full reboot - my internet sound isn't registered on vista's music mixer, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. But it's only ever from Firefox and Internet Explorer. It's not a problem with Addons, because internet explorer doesn't work either.

If someone could talk me through step by step to see if I've missed something.

My system specs:

HP Pavillion DV7 Notebook PC.
Running Windows Vista SP2.
Intel Core Duo Processor running at 2.53GHz
RAM: 4GB
32-bit operating system.

Nvidia High Def - Audio.
Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT.

I think its fine to ask here. Try asking the computer helpers group here. They will help for sure. I'd help but I dont even understand what all your specs mean

A friend of mine had the same problem, her soundcard pretty much melted :| Although, she was using a laptop.

I had the same problem for a while. But now it doesn't read that I have headphones plugged in, everything else goes through them but Firefox's audio refuses.

You are welcome. They were very helpful when I needed them. I dropped my laptop, it froze, and they helped me get it working again. Good luck.
