Why should anyone care about the silent majority? As long as they don't comment on stuff nobody knows if they like it or not, so it could also be the case that the majority doesn't like and simply doesn't comment. I saw the last couple of threads and there were a bunch of people who said that they don't like the pacing, and because there were more negative comments than positive ones, one has to assume that the majority doesn't like it.
Faulty logic. By your line of reasoning, a simple flick through the forum would suggest Diablo III sold quite poorly. This, however, is not the case.

People who dislike something, especially on the internet where they are free to rage and embarrass themselves, are always louder than those that enjoy it. Why? The group that like the subject move on and continue to enjoy it, while the angry minority want to vent.

"I uh, wasn't expect you to answer so quickly. I need to you to look inside yourself."

Oh God, this guy is an IDIOT.

Nice quotes from a different video thread. I'm still waiting for you to show us how "almost everybody" is whining.
Yes, those aren't from this comic specifically, but they are still referring to this story arc.
Sorry, did you not see the part where I said we are still waiting for you to show us how "almost everybody" is whining? Any time you're ready.
And I did that. Bearing in mind that "almost everybody" was still a bit of an exaggeration. There's also the simple fact that Grey wouldn't have felt the need to comment on the pace of the story if a whole bunch of people hadn't complained about it.
Oohh. So you exaggerated twice and continue to back up when actually asked to support your statements. Nice contribution to the thread.
I did back up my statements and you scoffed at my evidence because it wasn't from this thread specifically even though I wasn't talking about this thread specifically; in fact I was specifically referring to previous Critical Miss comic threads which makes my evidence even more relevant. So you can't say I didn't back up my statements.

canadamus_prime is right, I wanted to see the comments specifically to see if there would be lots of criticism again, and how people would react to the remark about the pacing. Just look through the threads for previous Critical Miss's in this story arc.

Edit: on a side note, if a name's first letter isn't capitalized, and I use this name to begin my sentence, should I capitalize it?
Thank you.
You going to back up any further from "Still a bit of an exaggeration?" You seem to use hyperbole on a whim and steadily reverse course, so I'm just curious. Perhaps you need to separate your rage from your forum posts or learn what silent majority means.
And you need to lighten up. Holy shit, and I thought I was anal retentive. Look I'd love (and by "love" I mean I'd rather rub my back with a garden claw} to continue this "charming" discussion, but I've got an appointment to get to. Excuse me.
Maybe you'll reconsider future attempts to "whine" (as you put it) and use gross hyperbole.

Sorry, but that argument about Diablo is faulty. If you look through the forum it doesn't suggest that it sold poorly, but that people didn't like it after they bought it.

No, sorry, you don't get to throw hyperbole around and be immune from criticism caused by said use. You disliking the fallout doesn't mean it goes away.

Also, you may want to do a little research into something called silent majority.
Here are some more comments that complained about the pacing from the previous comic thread:

Sejborg said:
Just kill her off already, and get on with it!!!
Swyftstar said:
He should just let her go and be done with it. I'm sick of her and the pace of this story.
canadamus_prime said:
I'm really tired of this story line, and I don't really get the bit with the Medusa Head.
Khravv said:
I actually don't mind this storyline, but I do agree the pacing is kind of slow.

This is basically my feelings on this arc. I think the story is interesting enough. But it is REALLY boring me with how slowly we are getting there.

Yes! Get on with it!
Eamar said:
I'd probably be less "meh" about this if the pacing of this arc wasn't diabolically slow. Can't help but think you could be working within the confines of your medium a bit better- this would work much better as a comic book than a twice a week webcomic. We could at least do with a bit more of the story with each installment :/
Biodeamon said:

Jumpingbean3 said:
I'm one of the few people who kinda likes this storyline but the pacing is a real problem. It would work better as a comic book rather than a twice-a-week strip.

Farther than stars said:
Also, isn't she looking directly into Medusa's eyes?
Oh, don't be silly. That only works with yellow Medusa Heads.
Mygaffer said:
Some how at this point I just want him to drop her to her death, he goes to jail for murder, the end! I don't know when you lost everyone but if it didn't happen last comic it happened this comic.

And the silent majority means nothing. I don't like the pacing either, but didn't make a post about it (up until now). Unless you can read minds, being silent doesn't count as a point for either you or him. Finally, he used an hyperbole, clearly not meant to be taken literally, and you trying to force him into "proving" his hyperbole is ridiculous. It's just a manner of speech.

There are roughly 7 billion people on this planet. Until you present a signed testimony from at least a small majority of them, I remain unconvinced that almost everybody was complaining. I'll settle for 4 billion.

I believe my demands are reasonable.

Ha ha, I love the way you humbly listen to the fans while simultaneously making fun of them. 'I admit the comic has problems with the pacing. Let's put it on hold for a week to make fun of it.'

Clearing the Eye said:

There is nothing gross about that hyperbole. If you cannot correctly parse the sentence ' everybody was complaining about the pacing' as ' discussion of this comic on these forums has been largely dominated by complaints regarding its pacing, it's you who has a problem, specifically being unable to decode languages by paying attention to context.

Okay.

This comic was the one thing keeping me checking Escapist twice a week. Not anymore. It's gotten boring and just not funny.

Happy?

OK I don't care so much as long as it's funny.

Videogames jokes funny

Forgetting about Erin Stout romcom minor jokes lengthy storyline not funny

I loved this comic for it's insightful view into videogames politics through humour.

Also just games gags in general this being a games site.

I am not interested in whatever emotional distress or whatever you characters are going through because I didnt sign up for drama.

Yes I'm an unfeeling douche with no talent of my own so feed on yours like a parasite

Just make it funny I don't care.

That being said this one was kinda funnier than the last 6 or so, except the hitman one which was hella funny.

I love your work in general and I just think the prolonged drama romcom shit was way off the mark for what you are truly capable of which in itself is genius.

You know...this is quite the extent to go for a white knight complex. When the flashback ends, can they have a Mortal Kombat fight where she beats the ever loving piss out of him? She deserves to doom him at least a little bit, for all the time he's been staring up (down?) her skirt without even having the courtesy to make a snide comment about her choice in underpants.

So, flashback time? Alright, I'm down with that.
