1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?
I got into gaming as a hobby when I was about 8/9 years old, my cousin came around bringing his N64 with a bundle of games, including; Bomberman 64, Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing and many others. I fell in love with the games and he had gotten bored of playing them so he let me borrrow them and even bought me my own N64! I literally couldn't pull myself from them, getting lost in those worlds which lead to me exploring more consoles, like the PlayStation. Again, my cousin let me borrow some his games that he had beaten, like Grandia, Ghost in the Shell and some others which really set my whole idea of gaming as a whole. Even as a young age I wanted gaming to be a MASSIVE part of my life.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?
For a long time I absolutely loved playing Banjo Kazooie, played it over and over (even now) but I never really played Tooie, I need to get that game. But with a game I CANNOT ever dislike is Digital Devil Saga. Absolutely superb game!

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?
I'm not a person that generally likes things for their genre, (much like my music) I enjoy them for what they are as themselves and would never look at a game and go "Oooh, it's an FPS, I like those.". Just not how I like things.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?
I own an N64, a PS1 and PS2, an Xbox and an Xbox 360, a Gamecube and Wii. I play my PS2 a lot more now that I have been buying more games of that era but I have had my N64 since I was 8/9 so my N64 has probably been played the most.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?
It's by far the most powerful gaming platform. I used to attend a local game cafe and we'd play massive lans of Crysis and it was phenomenal, though it is an extremely expensive way of playing games with a high end machine costing up to $8,000(!?!). But personally I'd stick to consoles, I prefer holding a controller.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?
I stand on the line where Call of Duty and Battlefield have become boring, repetitive and just seem to be turning more and more into a cash cow. Not a fan myself.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?
I'm not sure if it classifies as a hobby when you're 5, but I started playing games [and it was very regularly too] at that age, I started when my parents brought down the NES and we all sat around playing Mario together.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?
I have many favourite games, but haven't put any real thought into a "top 10", my favourite game of all time however is Conker's Bad Fur Day, closely followed by the Dead Space and Zelda series.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?
I spend more time playing first person games, but whether that's down to preference or just them being the most common, I'm not sure, I have preferred games from all genres, some I like and some I don't, but I can get into any genre really.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?
I have an Xbox, Xbox 360, Average performance pc, Gameboys, Ds, Playstations 1 and 2, and a Gamecube. I spend most time on my Xbox 360, mainly because of the better games and the fact that my friends have them too.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?
I think the pc is a valuable machine for games and testing how far they can go, but I'd much rather if power that could be captured in them would be transferred to consoles regularly, because I've always preferred to just have a dedicated gaming machine, than a machine that also plays games.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?
I stand outside the debate, fuelling both sides and thoroughly enjoying the hatred both sides seem to have for eachother, it's quite funny exactly how sad the whole situation is. I know that I'll end up getting both, but I'm more excited for Battlefield 3.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

The earliest console I remember owning is a SNES with only a small handful of games. I had Super Mario Brothers, Jeopardy, the tie in games for Beethoven 2 and Home Alone 2

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

My personal favorite game of all time is Legend of Mana. My favorite franchises are MegaTen, Pokemon and Ace Attorney. I'm also in love with the Saints Row series.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

Once upon a time my preference was in JRPGs, but I've grown out of it quite a bit. I wouldn't say I have loyalty to any particular genre right now.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

Regarding currently relevant consoles I own a Wii, PS3, 360, DS, PSP and iPod Touch. Right now the one I play the most is actually the iPod Touch, with tons of new and fun games coming out every week. I use the Wii for Netflix a lot. The other consoles...I mainly just play right now whenever something comes out.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

I think it's a secondary function. I love my PC, I do all of my homework and real work on the PC, it's also one of the places I go for relaxation and random net exploration. I have a few games on it, and I think it's fun that the PC has that function. But I'd never use a PC exclusively for gaming.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I don't really play either series, so I doubt my opinion is relevant. From what I've seen though I think MW3 is going to come out on top. Whether or not it's better will still be heavily up for debate.

I hope this has helped some.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?
I started playing games at a very young age, probably around six or seven, but it wasn't until I was ten or eleven and my family got a PC that I got into it seriously. I did not own a console until I was about 16.
2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?
Basically all of Valve's games, particularly Portal and Portal 2, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead. Aside from Valve, I am a big fan of the Bioshock series, the Elder Scrolls series, and most recently Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?
I prefer FPS's or puzzle games.
4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?
I own a PS2, Xbox and PC, but I play almost exclusively on the PC, mainly because I prefer the controls. I am a Computer Science student, so I am also interested in PCs for other things.
5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?
I think it is unparalleled as a gaming platform for its versatility, the availability of mods, Steam, the mouse-and-keyboard setup, and the graphical capability. I recognize that PCs aren't for everyone, as they can be more expensive and often require more fiddling to get games working, but I much prefer it over a console.
6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?
I believe that Battlefield 3 will be a better game, but both will be very popular and successful. I won't be buying either, at least not when they first come out.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

The first games I ever played were on the ancient Acorn Electron computer. Soon after that I played my first ever console game, Alex Kidd on the master system 2, and i was hooked. We wanted to buy a master system, but on christmas day my parents had actually bought us (me and my sister) a megadrive and a gameboy! This would have been christmas 1991 i believe.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

The resident Evil series, and the kingdom hearts series. I used to count others in there but they've all kind of lost their way (I'm looking at you, final fantasy!). As for favourite games I have a list of about 20 lol.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

No to be honest I'll play anything so long as I find it entertaining in some way.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

Of the current generation? Xbox 360, PC, 3DS, PSP and DS. But I have a great many consoles from past generations and I still play them regularly.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

It's great for people who like customization and raw power. I use it myself, though personally I believe that anything that is good on PC can be good on consoles aswell. I think lazy-ports and gamer elitism have blinded people to this possibility.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I'm not a fan of either and I won't be buying them. The call of duty franchise is not very good in honesty, though you can have some fun from time to time in multiplayer. That said the battlefield series and I have a bad history despite the fact I really, really wanted to like it.
The original perfect dark is better :p

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?
My brother is six years older than me and a gamer. I grew up playing his consoles, like the N64. For ages I didn't need to own a consoles or games. About ten years ago I actually bought myself a console, or tried, but they were out, so my cousins gave me their PS1. I enjoyed the games I had, but discovered I didn't like the controller much, and later got an Xbox, which is why after my brother got one, I got an Xbox 360. Nintendo was always my favourite company though, at least up until the Wii, because they were a purely gaming company. So it seemed whilst they were trying to fill the market, the others wnated to just fill their wallets.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?
I'm bad with favourites, of anything. The series I'm probably most nostalgic about is TimeSplitters. TimeSplitters 2 was one of the first games I had for my Xbox. I later got the third in the series, and very recently the first one for PS2. It's still my favourite FPS. Still waiting for TimeSplitters 4...

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?
I'll play pretty much anything except sports games, but opinions will vary.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?
GBA, DS Lite, 3DS, PS1, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii.
The 360 is my main platform.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?
It works well, but I prefer the design of controllers, and PCs lose part of their edge if you're not using a keyboard. I think it's a bit silly to claim anything as the true gamer puritan system, especially something that is not designed with gaming in mind, but can only be made to do it. I don't use it much unless I have to, but it does what it does well.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?
I've had more experience with Call of Duty, but my favourite that I've played was the first Modern warfare, because it had a decent campaign. FPS focus too much on multiplayer for me. Multiplayer is fine. TimeSplitters had great multiplayer, but that was good because you could make it yourself and as silly as possible. FPS today is far too competitive. I find most of the people waiting for these games didn't play FPS, or even any games until the last few years. I'm not routing for either side, I was hoping for Duke Nukem Forever to show people that silly shooters can exist today too. That didn't end up well. Can I hope that both sides destroy eachother?

1. my mom and dad bought it for me and my brother when I was 4. I've been playing ever since
2. Both! Series - Legend of Zelda, Game - Final Fantasy VII (no, I'm not ashamed to admit it)
3. Action RPG's would be my preferred genre but I'm not tied to it by any means, pre-PS3,XBox360 JRPGs used to like gold for me
4. PS3, Wii, 3DS, PSP. I play PSP the most 'cause of P3P, Monster Hunter, and Ogre Tactics, also I can take it to work (I'd take my 3DS but it has no games)
5. AMAZING!
6. single player - Call of Duty multiplayer - Battlefield

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?
Umm...I probably started around 2 or 3 playing my dad's copies of Mario 1 and 3, and then I vividly remember playing Sonic 1 and 2 with a friend throughout elementary school.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?
A lot, but I'll just name a few. Sonic (up to SA2), Final Fantasy, Metroid, and Half-Life are some off the top of my head.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?
I prefer JRPGs and classic-style FPSs, along with the occasional puzzle game.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?
Oh god, here we go. I own basically everything from the 16-bit era onward, sans the Xboxes. I play PC the most, as I've really taken a liking to first-person shooters (especially the Half-Life series) in recent years.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?
While it takes some effort to get a gaming PC working right, I believe that it's the most versatile platform of all. It's damn near perfected online play, digital distribution, a precise control scheme, and an amazing capacity for advanced visuals.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?
Eh, I've been a fan of Call of Duty up until World at War, mostly because my girlfriend's stepbrother tried to force MW2 on me, and then my brother tried to do the same with Black Ops. The series, post WaW, has just been declining in quality. On the other hand, I've played all Battlefield games up to the original Bad Company, along with 1943. I'm really looking forward to BF3, as it seems to be a tribute to the days of BF2, which happens to be my favorite game in the series.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

My first console was a Playstation. My Dad bought it for himself, but he hardly played it. The first games I played were Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy 7 and Tomb Raider. I think my favourite game at the time was Tomb Raider because of the puzzle solving elements. I did not start properly gaming daily until I got my very own Playstation a while later. As soon as the first Xbox came out, I had to have one. The Xbox then became my favourite gaming platform all the way up until now.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

My favourite Xbox 360 games are Elder Scrolls VI: Oblivion, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. I also really like The Orange Box. Portal 1 is a fantastic game, but I haven't played the second one. I don't plan on playing it either, the original can't be topped. A favourite series? Probably Half-life, because it consistently delivers great games. I've played HL1 on PC and all of the up to date entries in the series on Xbox360. The Halo series ended for me after #3, and Halo 1 is my favourite entry. Call of Duty is another series I've come to dislike, with the only quality games being #2 and #4 (in my opinion). Gears of War 1 was great, but #2 and #3 do not interest me in the slightest.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

Usually RPGS. Some of my favourite games are RPGs, such as World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, Pokemon and Deus Ex. I am no longer a great FPS fan because I think FPS games are becoming more bland and generic with every new installment. I have fond memories of CoD2, CoD4 and Halo 2/3. These were great online Fps games. I avoid RTS, Racing and sports genres.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

I own an Xbox360 and a Laptop. I prefer my Xbox as gaming platform, although I have not used it properly for months. This is because there are no new games that interest me. I will play it a lot more when Skyrim comes out. I use my Laptop for playing World of Warcraft only, because I have poor graphics hardware. If I had better specs, I'd definitely perfer to use a PC for RPG games like Elder Scrolls.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

I think the PC is a great gaming platform. But I do think consoles are well designed for their purpose. People want to throw a game into a console and play it instantly, without all the fiddling and installing. However, if I had the money to invest in a powerful PC then I'd do it in a heartbeat.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

Well I've come to hate the Call of Duty series. This is because the most recent games have not been innovative enough for me, and also because the fans annoy the hell out of me. Many people claim that these new CoD games are amazing, and add so many features. When I see videos of them in action, I'm not convinced of this at all. If I had to choose, I would definitely give Battlefield 3 a chance. The gameplay videos look impressive, however I admit the Call of Duty series always excels in terms of quality and presentation.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

I started when I was about 8 years old when my brother got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas and got Goldeneye and Killer Instinct Gold with it, so they were the first two games I really got into. I had played my cousins Sega over at his house but I didn't really get into it until we got our own console.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

Conker's Bad Fur Day will always hold a place in my heart. I remember paying $100 for it at the time and then faking sick the next day so I could stay home from school and just play it all day. The comedy of it, the levels and characters and the different styles of gameplay it had were just fantastic.
Also, I'll always be a fan of the Halo series. Played the hell out of the first campaign with my brother, didn't really get into 2 that much. Played the campaign of 3 a few times but started to get more into competitive at this point playing at my friends house who had Xbox live. And then got my own subscription to Xbox live when Reach came out and have been playing multiplayer pretty much religiously since.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

I would say FPS would be my baby, with me basically just playing Halo and CoD most of the time now.. But I do love getting immersed in a big open RPG world like Fallout.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

I own a Xbox 360, a pretty good laptop and the old Nintendo 64.
I probably play the Xbox most, just cause it's what I own Halo and Black Ops on.. But I do play games like Minecraft and Counterstike: Source on my laptop a fair bit aswell.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

I think it's great if you're able to keep up with the costs of keeping a top of the line computer, the mouse as an aiming device is incredibly accurate compared to a controller but I don't really like the keyboard part of it.
PC also offers the option to (kinda) easily mod games and get so much more out of them unlike consoles.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

Well I am getting both for Xbox as I believe they're both going to be great games.
People need to realize that they are totally different games. Call of Duty focuses more of the small scale, close combat warfare in which you just run and gun anything that moves and get the most kills normally.

Batttlefield however focuses on the large scale, teamwork orientated objective gameplay. With lots of little individual battles going on all over a usually large map and implementing vehicles such as tanks and jets.

Like I said, they're two different games and will both be awesome.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

I was a very young child and it was the NES and I believe either a Mario game or a Final Fantasy game. It was 2 doors down at my best mate's house. I think I was 5.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

Aye. If you are talking multi player I enjoy Little Big Planet 1 and 2 because hey its fun to kill your friends ;]. Single player it really depends on my mood. I've always been a fan of the Mortal Kombat series but I love the Silent Hill series. Portal is one of my favourite games as well.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

Puzzle, Platformer, Survival-Horror, and RTS

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

I own a laptop that I game on, a PS2, a PS3, and a Wii and am working on acquiring a 360. I play my laptop more lately because it is easier to cool down. Too hot to turn on my PS3 lately. However normally I play more on my PS3 only because I have more games and am a trophy/achievement whore and working on a few games for those.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

Being that I am a PC gamer I think it is a fine gaming machine.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I have Battlefield 3 on pre-order for my PS3 because some of my guy friends want to play it with me and I am humouring them. Personally I don't play FPS games often and when I do, I run around like a retarded monkey. Mostly I am getting it so I can talk to my friends across the country/world and game with them.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

Circa 1979, with the Odyssey and Atari 2600. Yeah...

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

I surely have had different franchises of games standing out in some moments of my life. When the NES first came out, I was immediately drawn to the Ninja Gaiden and Megaman series. At the same time, I started gaming on computers more, and I was drawn to some early text-based adventure games and, a little later on, towards the Ultima and Wizardry series. I am a long, long time fan of the TES series, probably my favorite game franchise of all time.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

I love western-style FRPGs. I also enjoy fighting games for a quick fix, and some types of MMO and MOBAs.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

Well, I own pretty much anything that was released after the Atari 2600, with a few exceptions (namely, Sega consoles after the Genesis). My favorite platforms are the PC, MAME emulation and the Playstation family, each in its own realm of awesomeness. I currently play more PC and Playstation 3 than other platforms. Ah, I do not purchase any Microsoft hardware too, because I like things that work for more than 1 week. So, no X-Box for me.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

I think it is unsurpassed for some types of games, and the possibility to mod some titles is supreme (TES reference, here). I'll never stop using the PC as a gaming platform.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I always liked Battlefied more than CoD. But, because the companies developing and publishing those games care only about profit and like to inconvenience their customers, I will not be purchasing either one. I value my gaming money.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

My first console was a Nintendo Entertainment System, although I only played that sporadically, as all I had was Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. The game and console that really got me into gaming as a hobby would have to be Star Fox 64 and the Nintendo 64. I was at my cousin's house one Christmas in 1997; I saw him playing that, I was blown away by what I saw, I asked for a Nintendo 64, one thing led to another, and here I am.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

My favorite franchise would have to be the Legend of Zelda. I always find myself entranced by all the many versions of Hyrule in those games (as well as locales that aren't Hyrule), I love the dungeon system they came up with, and the enchanting stories that grip me every time. It's a very gripping, timeless adventure series, and I look forward to Skyward Sword in November. Of course, when it comes down to choosing my favorite game of all, it's very difficult, as there are many games I love for different reasons.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

I prefer playing adventure games, action games, RPGs, anything that is really eye-catching. I tend to prefer games that are considerably more unique than most of the triple-A fare that most people enjoy. That's not to say they are all bad, but I like to play something a bit more, shall we say, "artsy". And of course, I'm a sucker for story-focused games.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

Currently, I own a Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, a PlayStation 3, and a laptop PC. I play the Wii most often, as the library of games for that console just happen to be the most eye catching to me, as well as having the Nintendo franchises I know and love.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

I think it's a very, very great thing, though I'm not very much of a PC gamer, as, for the longest time, and even now, my computers have not exactly been very good at gaming. This laptop is decent, though it does struggle with some newer games, and unfortunately, it isn't possible to upgrade this laptop. Nevertheless, I certainly see no problem with PC gaming, it's a platform like any other, with it's own strengths and weaknesses.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I'm not exactly a fan of FPS games, so one could say I am neutral in that battle. Again, it's not to say they are bad, they just aren't for me. That, and I am not especially good at them. About as close to FPS games I get to are on-rail light gun shooters, like Time Crisis or House of the Dead.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

Well when pretty much when I got Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening which was one of the best games I ever got in time. When probably like I was 10 or 11 so pretty much 10 years ago or something like that. After years of playing, I started it as a hobby and soon as a mock job for reviewing games on a site.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

Kirby, (name suggests), Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain for some reason, the Pokemon series, Final Fantasy 7, and Legend of Zelda: both OoT and LA

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

Racing, Shooting, Adventure, RPG, and the occasional Puzzle

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

PC, XBOX360, PS3, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Advance, N64, Gameboy Advance, used to- DS and Lite. I play PS3 a lot because it's throwing great games and the controllers for this system work better for me than the sometimes flimsy controllers of the Wii.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

Can't respond. Kind of indifferent of it being a gaming machine.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I hate both of these franchises mainly because B3 is just not a worth-wild franchise to me and the MW series is just getting annoyingly repetitive.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

I first played Super Mario Land and Tetris on a friend's Gameboy when I was 4, then got my own shortly after my 6th birthday (for me to share with my little brother); also used to play NES or SNES at friends' houses when the opportunity presented itself.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

Seeing how I haven't played the Legacy of Kain games for many years, I'm not sure how they'd hold up in my eyes nowadays, so I'm going to go with the Prince of Persia franchise (from PS2 and onward).

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

I mostly enjoy Platforming, Hack&Slash, fast-paced 3rd-Person Shooters and the occasional RTS.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

Playstation 2
Playstation 3
Xbox 360
Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS
PC

I mostly use the PS3 nowadays. The others are also very entertaining to use, but I'm a console gamer at heart, and in that domain the PS3 usually has the best graphics, not to mention a controller with an internal battery pack; not sure how the online gaming support holds up in comparison to XBL Gold, but since I almost never play online anyway it hardly matters to me.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

Most definitely still relevant, especially considering the rise of digital distribution. Its method of input may not be my 'weapon of choice', but it also isn't limited like consoles in terms of raw power; furthermore, it's simply superior to consoles regarding certain game genres, such as FPS and RTS.

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

I couldn't give a flying poop about that infantile fanboy war and the games it's about, and this indifference is amplified by A) my relative disconnectedness from the online gaming scene and B) my enormous dislike of games that chiefly advertise themselves through the element of realism.

1. In terms of your first consoles and games, how and when did you first get into gaming as a hobby?

SNES and Genesis. Been captivated ever since.

2. Would you say you had any favourite games, or series?

Well, I can say that my favorite series, of right now, is Saints Row series.

3. Any genres you tend to prefer playing?

This is something you MUST understand, its like movies, you watch what you want to play, hell, I'm captavated by indie games more then most games now in days. Its like movies, you choose what you want to watch, but you don't watch the same movie every day.

4. Regarding platforms, which do you own? Of those, what do you play most and why?

PC, its basically DRM free, which is great.
I own the other ones, but yeah, their collecting dust, hope they don't turn in their graves.

5. What do you think of the PC as a gaming machine?

Its the most capable, if I wanted, I could attach any controller to my machine and still play games. I can successfully emulate older games, newer games, and I get to build a console to my liking, what CAN'T I do with it?

6. Finally, with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's a lot of debate amongst the online FPS crowd as to which is better. Where do you stand on this?

Neither, both are over hyped, and will get perfect scores because reviewers bend over backwards FOR these series, because of how Reviews work now in days, they HAVE to give, even bad games, a slightly HIGH score to stop from losing future review copies. Look, Call of Duty won't improve anything or balance for anyone, it'll remain a wreck. Battlefield may fall into the same trap, just FARTHER down the line, probably when their making one every year.

I'm Nathaniel, and usually go by some variation on Pajamas or Aprilgold.

1. I've played video games since I was 2. My older brother had a PS and N64, and since we shared a bedroom, I got into it pretty early.
2. I love the Total War series, Rome being my favorite. Aside from that, Call of Duty 2 is my favorite game of all time.
3. I prefer RTSs.
4. I own a 360, PS3, and "gaming laptop". I play on the gaming laptop the most, because my 360 is currently broken and my PS3 isn't in my bedroom.
5. I use it to play most of my games, I prefer it over consoles.
6. To me it's more of a "Who can make a more generic, bland, uninspired game?" contest, with Battlefield 3 in the lead. I plan on buying Modern Warfare 3 if I buy either of them, since realism doesn't really matter in Modern Warfare 3, therefore the developers can jam in whatever they want.
