Oh, and one more thing.
Name a band that would be included in Metal Studies that isn't Metallica.
Apocalyptica? Korpiklaani? Umm... Define what you believe is "metal" because it could possibly include Black Sabbath... Metallica is just a well-known band. Too well known for some of the metal snobs. If you wanted me to list bands that you might know, I think that's all of them, because I tend to listen to bands from Finland more than anywhere else.
Don't forget Maximum The Hormone for the Asian equivalent ^.^

Applied Ethics, or 'how not to be a tremendous douche'.

Subjects Include:
History of Frivolous Lawsuits and class discussion of why they are bad
Bullying and its Effects
Empathy and the Philosophers who promoted it
i actually have that subject
Really? Wow. Is it interesting at all? What kind of attendance does it get? An optional class, naturally.
nope its mandatory and it is the most boring subject that has ever existed

DOTAny 101. I always joke about when I played DOTA LAN with my friends at college, considering our matchup to be our final examination.

I remember when Finland won the Eurovision with those guys dressed up as demons and crap.

They were pretty good.
Ah, Lordi. Some people would argue that they aren't metal but hard rock (hence their song Hard Rock Hallelujah [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdItwaLrv1U], the one that one at Eurovision.) I'm assuming you're from Europe, then. Not many people in North America have heard of Eurovision (which is weird, cause isn't that what made ABBA famous?).

But, some other metal bands you may know that would possibly be taught in that lesson... Edit: Not necessarily stuff I listen to, though. The first three, yes, the others I have just really heard mentioned by other people, so I assume they are fairly popular. /Edit
Gorgoroth (Norwegian Black Metal)
Finntroll (Finnish Folk/Viking Metal)
Insomnium (Finnish Melodic Death Metal)
In Flames (Swedish [the early stuff] Melodic Death metal)
Opeth (Swedish ... Extreme progressive metal? [according to metal-archives.com at least... One of two places I look when needing info on metal bands])
Children of Bodom (Finnish Melodic Death metal)
Dream Theater (American... metalarchives tells me it's progressive metal. I wouldn't know.)
I think those are the major bands I've heard of that you may know... There are honestly thousands of metal bands, so a lesson on metal would not be a bad idea. The website I check for Finnish metal has 705 bands at the moment (still counting) and metalarchives has 70 805 bands. There is much selection, believe me.

What are you on, man? Stop trying to tell me to like them. I don't, I'm sorry.
Plus, they aren't even in metalarchives' database.
But, if it makes you feel better, I did youtube them (is it sad that youtube is now a verb?), and I still don't like them.

Sleep Class.

First thing in the morning.
I could've used one of those last year....
It's called a free period.
I was referring to first period last year, a time and place that I can barely remember due to my lack of sleep from the previous night. Also, only once in a blue-moon did I have a free period, and it was always in the afternoon when I was wide awake, so... I really could've used that sleep class for first period last year....

Common sense and observation.
Basically it's how to not be a dumb-arse and, how to pay attention to details.

Discernment.

People need to learn that "reality television" actually isn't and that the burger you see in the fast food commercial isn't the burger that you'll be getting at your local outlet.

I'm going to say ninja studies, and hope I don't ironically get ninja'd! Though by now, I probably will have been. Multiple times.

It'd have to be for toddlers, though, obviously. Little 5 year olds in ninja gear.. hehe.. As an added bonus, teachers can make all the really annoying kids 'disappear' and parents will just think their child is an awesome ninja! Everyone wins!
