I downloaded the game when I first heard about it (it was free). It's pointless, tedious, and more slapstick comedy than domestic abuse simulator. The game may be distasteful, but any game where you kill thousands of people has to be at least equally distasteful, right?

It seems to be gone now, at least from the US store. Chalk one up for censorship.

You can play it here if you have the stomach for it:

Notice it's in the "Girl Games" category.

I just find this funny.

I know, I know, if it was a woman on the receiving end this game would be hurled into the fiery pits of hell, good for the goose, good for the gander, equality, blah-de-blah... I get it.

But it still makes me laugh.
Are you sexist or do you approve of DV against women too?
...

Yes, I am the biggest sexist on the planet.

I hate all men and firmly believe that every single one of them deserves to choke on their own wrinkly, satanic scrotums.

Also, I totally approve of domestic violence against women because, well... because I might as well go the whole hog, right?

This is all evident by the fact that the stupid premise of an iOS game makes me laugh.

Of course. And if you laugh at fart jokes, you're into scat, too. But that's also a game on the Apple app store, hence if you laugh at it, that means you condemn the use of any other brand of electronics. By the way, the game portrays two WHITE people. What, have something against the other races? Hmm? And what's the deal with blonds, are they not people or something - notice how the boyfriend and the girlfriend both have the same colour of hair (reddish-brown).

You disgust me.

From what I gather, women don't like to spend too much time around their boyfriend's trainers, or, indeed, any footwear. Something about miasma. So I don't think this is anything to worry about.

If there were a game where a man would hit his girlfriend until she was perfect, would that also be called a fetish or would it be called promoting domestic violence against women?

That's actually a rather interesting question, but are you honestly willing to explore that with an open mind and put aside your prejudices and your projections or is your mind already made up on the topic? ;)

Explore it? We already know the answer to that. This game is not about things that go on ONLY in the bedroom, this is domestic violence plain and simple.

Well if you're already convinced you're 100% right, not much point of us chatting about this then, i will only antagonize you as i think you're wrong and projecting some very strong views onto an old weird game made for a particular group of people who won't view this product as you do.

You really don't think a game that has men hitting women to make them perfect is promoting domestic violence?

Said like that, probably. But kinda hard to judge based on a 1 sentence description, context is important. You can't just gender flip fantasies like that and assume it will be the same for both, controlling the actions of a disobedient spouse is typically a female dom fantasy, not a male one (insert sexist joke here if you will).
If it really is a maledom game, then it would likely be sexual domination rather then beating a wife up because she is not perfect enough, to give an example. Games where you just beat up a female victim would likely fall into the "ryona" category instead.

If it were the equivalent of this game though, then a resounding no, it would only promote domestic violence in your mind and those that would want to get offended, since the game would be destined for a particular audience who (hopefully) can tell between reality and fantasy and its not like you're seeing adverts for this game posted all over the place bragging about how awesome it is to beat up your spouse.

Who the hell is this even for?
What a load of absolute shit.
Don't know what kind of idiot would even buy this.
Bleh, I don't even know what else to say about it.
This is for a very small portion of women, those who have been having such a weird behavior that no man can cope their personalities, and instead of evolving themselves to become more mainstream humans think that men are evil and want to punish them.

Women beating up their boyfriends eh? Might as well call this game "I Spit on Your Grave." In any case, yea men might be beaten senseless if they beat women, but since most of the various industries, aroudn th world, are spending time on showing that women are always damsels in distress, putting them in as little and exposing clothing as possible, and so on, the least that could happen is a small game where the women for once fights back.

NOt defending the game, but I'm not accusing it either.

The game does not jump out and hit you? The game doesn't kill your mother? It doesn't make you lose your job? The last one is actually a maybe but also has to have someone CHOOSE to be harmed by it.
Because as we all now, we can't criticize anything that might send a message or glorify a certain behavior, we're only allowed to get angry at things if it flat out physically assaults us.

Yea, no. Doesn't work like that.
Seconding this. Have to disagree with the mentality saying that nothing short of literal assault can possibly be tasteless or offensive.

I mean, think of the Westboro Baptist Church protests.

Ready the fedoras.

I hope this isn't the same crowd that swears most video games aren't at least mildly sexist.

Also the reason why a game like this doesn't get a particularly large sphere of press is because the media tend not to treat female-to-male domestic violence because females are still considered weaker and inferior. Think of a chihuahua trying to flatten a bull dog and then consider whether or not you'd call it a 'dog fight'. Also, this game was probably created by a male, who is suggesting women are naggy and catty to the point where a girlfriend would hit her boyfriend until he is 'perfect' because she, being a woman, is a *****. And bitchiness is just what women do, right?

Most men would laugh at the idea that a woman is actually beating a man up. Start there instead of rage-quitting social sex politics the first time there's a spoof made about the issue.

It could be a male sub fantasy.
