IP based adds here on The Escapist

Is anyone else out there sick of the adds based on your IP? for me as an Australian im getting adds for the Australian hip hop band Hill Top Hoods. Which is the worse kinda music and im sick to fuck of having forced on me whenever i try to watch some funny shit.

Man there have been a lot of threads complaining about Ad's somehow....and doesn't every website do this? Or not the website, but whoever runs the ads? That way it's directly targeted to you....shitty, but not the Escapist's doing

Also it's better than being served ads that have absolutely no relevance to you. At least the hoods are Aussies.

Get used to it. 'sides, no one's forcing you to click it or listen to music you don't like. Hell, no one's really even forcing you to look at it either.

I haven't had any yet, but then again I don't watch tons of videos. Though, I do recall the pain of trying to have an Extra Credits marathon on Penny Arcade. It wasn't the ads that bothered me, it was the fact that it was the same damn Honda commercial over and over and over. God, I hate Hondas.

Well since I'm in México I don't really get many ads at all, in fact most of the advertisements I get are about in-site stuff, I get them sometimes but for the most time I'm ad free and on videos I've never gotten any ads besides the ones that are at the end of the video, and by sometimes I mean that I haven't seen any ads this year and last year I only had ads for like a month, it's a little strange to see a site without ads but oddly enough I don't mind ads all that much.

Statement Of Fact: Nobody wants to hear a plug in threads like these. They wouldn't be complaining if they were willing to fork over money to the Escapist. They see the signs, so you don't need to bring it up.

OT: This may come as a surprise, but in terms of one's area on the internet - the sites in your language and all - the ads will mostly be of the things you can access in the place you live in. Now, that may be different on the cases of certain sites with certain coding so that Australians get Australian products instead of something out of Ireland, but I ask you...what good would an Irish advert do ya if ya saw one instead of something more relevant to you?

Out of all the complaints about ads, I dunno if this is a big one. I'm more in mind with complaining about how the mods will burn anyone who talks about the use of the program that may as well be called Voldemort for all I care. You know the one. That's worth complaining about.
