The iPhone looks horrible when placed next to the Nokia E71.

And that's not including how much worse it feels.

+1 for the E71.

If you really want to have 20 flashlight applications, then get an iPod Touch and use JoikuSpot on your E71 to get the best of both worlds.

But seriously...Who would say the iPhone/iPod Touch looks better than the E71 (outside of those who are at the mental development of a 14 year old)?
I would. I'm 24. The E71 looks like a knock off of an older Blackberry. Not that I would normally care one way or the other about aesthetics over functionality, but you know when someone decides to lower their opinion of my IQ by a full decade based on my choice of phone, the can is pretty much opened.

I decided yesterday that I will never buy an Apple product ever again after I defragged my iPod and it stopped working.

yeah that nokia looks like a blackberry wanna be, it looks like a model that RIM released a couple years ago, like the 8XXX line before the pearl came out

the iphone has a couple hangs up, such as needing an earpiece and web browser not being overly stable

the battery issue was fixed a few months ago, they patched it and have patched the short battery life a couple times. tho data will still suck your battery but that's not overly avoidable

other than those things it's a pretty good phone, has some great features and is pretty robust in what it can do, it's also a cheaper alternative for email for business cause you don't have to get a blackberry plan, just data and that's it

So if the e71 is not a PDA then what program does it use to "push" e-mail to your phone?
it uses RIM's email client to push email, so why not buy a blackberry

See, I think the iPhone looks better because the E71 looks too busy. I like the simplicity of the iPhone. Wouldn't recommend one though. My friend has to get her screen replaced because someone broke into her locker at work and smashed it and it's going to cost AU$400. Plus, they have no battery life, a lot of bugs and most of the applications are really over priced. I'd get a Nokia 6300. They're great little phones.

Going to purchase outright and stay with Optus prepaid. Basically $100 for $1000 and 1 gig of net which is the best plan in Australia atm.
Ah, come on! There are far better phones out there than the iPhone! I've given you one suggestion in the Nokia E71, then there are the offerings by HTC. The iPhone doesn't even have expandable memory!
Can your E71 do this?

Just throwing that out there.

I've never seen a Blackberry that even looks or feels close to what the E71 has going for it. Could you post some examples?

I love it when you're even more wrong than you are smug. It's an amusing combination :p
hate to say it but i'm right yet again :)

this is really easy proving you wrong and yet you've yet to prove me wrong even once, so if i'm smug it's cause i'm right and you have no clue what you're talking about

I like the iPhone - It looks rad, free txts, internet and its pretty much an iPod.

However I cant afford and I've seen a few bugs in it. Hopefuly by the time the first problem is solved the second one is aswell.

Most importantly im not a phone buff and don't care that much.
