IRN BRU: What is this stuff?

Imagine a jellybean factory:

Everyweek they get kids to tour the factory and tell them they can have as many free jellybeans as they want, and there is a prize for the person who eats the most jellybeans.

Then, when all the kids are full to burst, they are taken over to a vat of tonic water.

Leaning over the vat, they are then made to play Mirror's Edge.

After letting nature take it's course, the subsequent product is bottle as IRN BRU

Anyway it's funny that in almost every country in the world, Coca-Cola is the most popular soft drink, however, in Scotland it is IRN-BRU!
This is obviously conclusive proof that IRN-BRU is fizzy, ginger AND phenomenal. Also that it is the best soft drink in the world.

I have never tasted the stuff. It could taste nice or like someones discharged urine. What I think sounds quite disgusting is that my badminton coach told me that he heard that sports professonals are mixing this with Lucozade and then they drink it.
