Well, this is disappointing.

Taking aside all this political undertone people are throwing its way to either defend or attack it, the reason why I was looking forward to it was because I like kung fu movies, and this was a superhero character whose main skill is being really, really good at kung fu (better than characters like Batman, because he doesn't have gadgets at all). Having bad choreography and boring pacing are worst sins to me than being politically incorrect.

Is it fair to say that Iron Fist has a boring looking premise from the outside? Billionaire is good at Kung fu is not only unoriginal, but it doesn't even have a theme or perspective to colour it in an interesting way.
I don't think they can do Iron Fist right. I never thought that Iron Fist was interesting, but I just read The Immortal Iron Fist, and it was pretty great. It turns Danny Rand from a white savior billionaire douche to simply an inheritor (and not a very good one) to a legacy. But it is just way too weird to coexist with the rest of the Netflix verse and even the whole MCU. You have the dragons, the mystical cities, the immortal weapons, the demons, etc. Even their names are weird.

Yeah iron fist needs so much set up before you even get to the present day, it's not like the rest of the marvel netflix-ers who's power origins can be explained with a hand wave. Danny has trained literally his entire life in Kun Lun after being his dad, who had the opportunity to become an iron fist but turned it down, died taking him there. Oh and his mother died within site of kun luns entrance. Oh and he killed a dragon. Oh and the iron fist is a legacy title. Oh and Danny Rand is a playboy billionaire.

There's so much going on, and I honestly think that starting in new york is a fucking terrible idea. Start with Danny winning the selection tournament, killing shou-la then choosing to return to earth. For the love of god don't do it in flashbacks.

Also if the heroin woman is revealed to be crane mother I will be pissed. Davos the steel serpent needs to be around before the steel phoenix.
