Is anybody else dreading the backwash or Portal 2 humour?

4 Years ago Valve released an original game [I know!]. I've never played it personally, but I don't feel I need to, because every. Fucking. Joke. Has been splattered all over the internet, one of the main reasons I never played it to be honest.

Anyway complaining about that is old, but the second is out now. So is anybody else dreading the internet being flooded by 'the cake is not really a liez lawl' or whatever else fanbois will find as comedy gold?

I suppose I could just ignore it, but I'm far too bitter

Um, theres no mention of Cake in Portal 2 at all. Perhaps Valve was tired of the cake jokes too.
And also, "fanbois" humor, is not necessarily humor from the game. The humor actually coming from the game is pitch black and borderline anti humor. Its intelligent.

You're doing yourself a disservice if you let the Internet's resident, thriving community of Stupid put you off from playing either the original Portal or the new sequel. They're both excellent, and you can just do what I do, namely avoid people who quote the jokes in lieu of cleverness wherever you might find them. It's not that hard to do.

They were tired of it, an interview with one of the Dev's specifically stated that they were sick and tired of the cake meme and they weren't going to include anything cake related in the sequel.

Pretty sure Stephen Merchant/Wheatley made the game, at least for me.

also Portal had no storyline, Portal 2 expanded on the background of Aperture and where GLaDOS came from.

OT: Im finding it very different from the first with a lot of innovation in the test chamber sections and the story line is very well developed although the original humor is still present.
