I'm not too excited. The control scheme looks fairly more flexible, but it still feels like the same old schtick, just with Azeroth swapped for Tamriel. I'd be interested in revisiting areas from previous games for the sheer fun of it, though, and maybe for the fun of seeing Elsweyr.

Consider me as a future Let's Play watcher, but not a subscriber.

Nope, after The Old Republic let me down I don't think MMORPG's can really offer me anything of interest. They're poorly built money sinks with bland skinner box mechanisms instead of gameplay, sorry, no... give me a real game.

I love TES, but hate MMOs. No dice sadly.
So no word on subscription prices or whatever?
Why does no developer bother doing the Puzzle Pirates approach to monetizing/subscriptions? In Puzzle Pirates, some servers are free, and some are paid. On the paid servers, pretty much every major item sold by NPCs costs a second special currency (Doubloons) in addition to the regular currency. (Pieces of Eight) The special currency can be bought with real money, but can be traded to other players for regular money, so people who aren't willing to pay money on free servers can still get things.

No...no..not really.

Judging from what I have seen so far...it just looks like another attempt to cash in on WoW's success...and we don't need another cash in.

But who knows...maybe they will actually try and do their own thing. It would be a nice surprise.

Hmm... I don't know if I'd say I'm excited, but it looks interesting and I'm looking forward to it. I might try it when it comes out just to see how it is.

Edit:
Although it does look cool as an MMO, I feel I should mention I think it'd be even more awesome as a single player game. It'd be like Arena, you'd get to explore all of Tamriel only this time you could really see all the provinces in all their glory. That's what I'm most interested in.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Some of the early stuff I've heard about it sounds really good (like the combat and the pvp), but there's still way to many ways for them to screw this up for me to be excited. And honestly, I'm not a big fan of MMOs anyway (they take up way too much time that I could be playing something else), so it would take a lot for this game to interest me.

Still, they're promising enough unique things for this one to be worth paying attention to.

I would if it were F2P. I'm also afraid of signing up for an MMO because I know that I'd get addicted to it, which is actually the reason why I haven't played Minecraft. Finally I feel a bit betrayed by Bethesda really with how they been treating us PS3 users.

The latest gameplay they showed off did make it look more like an Elder Scrolls game than I was expecting it to be based on the early screenshots. The combat sounds more like what we expect from TES, for better or worse, and it does sound like they really want to encourage that kind of Elder Scrolls exploration, which should be interesting in an MMO format. It might actually be neat to find a hidden cave out in the world and find a fellow traveler exploring it as well. It won't feel like you're discovering things in the single player games, but it may have its own unique sense of adventure that we haven't really experienced yet.

The only big thing keeping me from keeping a closer eye on it is its subscription plan. Guild Wars 2 has already proven that a quality MMO doesn't need millions of dollars a month to stay profitable and keep the servers running. And thats the thing; I love GW2, so how does another MMO come along after that and say "hey, how about you start paying monthly fees to have some fun?", it just doesnt work. Even if I could theoretically have more fun with TESO, I'd still end up hating the fact that it's costing an arm and a leg to get that enjoyment.

You know that whole "you are never the only one" thing?
Well I think we can make an exception in this case.

Not even slightly. In my opinion nothing good can come from a successful single player game getting an MMO spinoff. But maybe I'm biased, I'm still pissed about SW:TOR.

I like MMO's but they left me a bit jaded as of late. WAR was an awesome game but EA fiddled with it's entrails and slowly ruined it since beta changing lots of tiny things which amounted to a lot, at the end it became a very grindy pvp MMO, something no one wanted. Then I played some more WoW which is fine but the same thing for years now, since then I picked up DCUO which is an awesome game that does Free to play right(content packs for end-game and pvp stuff that are entirely optional and no retarded restrictions like TOR.) Then I left for TOR and the storytelling felt good kind of like a cross between Mass Effect and KOTOR, however they said it would be a story based mmo and gave us not a single bit of story not in pvp warzones or dungeons since release. With f2p I expected to check it out but I'm not going to play when I need to pay to hide helmet or play more than 4 pvp matches/dungeons per week so I canned it. Right now I play some wow from time to time(And I can still enjoy it actually.) and that's it.

The probably shorter version is, I'm wary of new MMO's unless they have a trial or free content where I can find out if I like it. The TES mechanics are awesome though and a multiplayer TES game has been a dream of many for years. If I really really like the gameplay or if the model's not the archaic subscription based shit I'll probably give it a try, I'm sure I'll play at least the trial at some point though.

if it's free to play, I defiantly will not play it. Elder Scrolls is NOT the kind of franchise that would do well with micro transactions... I'll only play it if it has a subscription based membership

I hated it when it was announced because like many TES fans I strongly oppose multiplayer in the series, but I stopped caring, it's not like it's wasting Bethesda Game Studios' time and who knows maybe some interesting lore will come out of it.

Still no interest in the game at all, especially not if it's subscription based.

My initial reaction to the announcement of ESO was skeptical to say the least. As more information comes out, however, it looks increasingly like something worth trying. MMOs are not generally my thing, but I will try this one. (I'll also try FFXIV 2.0 just because I can't believe what Square Enix invested in it.)

I'm buying a decent gaming laptop solely for this game so I hope it's good.
I'm not a big fan of MMOs but I like the elder scrolls universe so I guess I'll make my judgement before it comes out. As long as it's a one-off payment, maybe. If subscription, NO.
