Is anyone else suspicious of no mans sky?

I'm more worried that the environment won't react accordingly with what I do on each world. In other words, I want the little critters to be scared of me and run away while the bigger critters are more standoffish.

That and I hope that the exploration is as good as they are showing.

The problem is, even the most spectacular algorithm becomes stale or at least unimpressive for human perception.
I spent 10h+ in Shadow of Mordor just running around marvelling at random Orks and their designs and their traits and their names. But after some time, you see repetitions, not whole characters but the same face, the same title, whatever, and it just gets boring.
I was blown away when I created my first DF world, and while it's still pretty cool to have thousands of "people" simulated, once you get a grasp of the limits, it loses some of it's magic.
Or look at Spore, where the millions of different player-created species on thousands of planets in your Galaxy had no impact whatsoever.

No Man's Sky will need a damn lot more than just random planets to be an actual game.

When a dev goes "EVERYTHING IS PROCEDURAL!!!" I tend to dial that down to "Everything is governed by an RNG, and technical limitations prevent us from delivering on truly random forms of gameplay or world and creature design".

With that in mind, I'm expecting something pretty and versatile, but not something that'll blow my mind.
Yeah, it's governed by a 64-bit seeding key, so in a way it's just a huge RNG.

I have the same worries. I know there will be space exploration/combat. Also the ability to discover and mine planets. But what's my goal? Is it just flying about and finding resources to upgrade my ship? Someone said finding the center of the universe, but that sounds kinda boring. I'm hoping they allow planet colonization, making me attached to all these random planets in the galaxy.
It seems that the aim of the game is to literally just explore planets, fight bad guys in space, and terrorize small critters.

Meh, I like just flying around and exploring randomly generated galaxies and universes. If there's other shit to do then it's a bonus.
