Is Arkham Asylum worth the potential hassle?

After having Steam update on me while I was away, I logged in again and to my surprise, I saw Batman: Arkham Asylum: GoTY on sale. I had to hold back a squee as I clicked on the link, then my world came to an instant halt when I saw that Securom came with the game. Seeing that, and thinking it a minor nuisance to a potentially enjoyable game, I looked at the requirements and I was like "yay" when I saw I exceeded those, then I saw it also required Games for Windows Live, and I was like "What arbitrary silliness" and closed Steam in frustration.

Now, to those who have the PC version of this game, is all of the junk that has to be included in the game worth it when you play this game?

Sorry, what hassle? You buy the game and while it's downloading go and create a windows account. Where's the hassle?

I don't see the problem... I bought it off steam with those things attached, and they aren't even noticable. Will typing a username into the game the first time you run it really hamper your enjoyment? Just press the 'remember me' button and you'll never hear from it again.

Its REALLY fun, and if you get that live crap you dont have to do it for other games like GTA IV
I mostly REALLY found it worth the hassle.

Funny... I thought Steam downloads didn't have stuff like Securom since Steam already safeguards the game or something.

But, personally, the game is worth it. THE best superhero game of all time and is extremely satisfying. So.. go for it. I doubt there's really a hassle.

It is so worth it. The windows account thing is a bit annoying but if you have an xbox account you get gp for it. Regardless the game is AMAZING.

If you don't mind downloading shady spanish language DirectX controller hacks, it's a great game.

If you buy it, know that you'll need a gamepad to play this game. Also know that there's a good chance that your gamepad will for some reason have inverted y axis controls (back is forward/forward is back,) and there is no control editing. The game will be borderline unplayable until you find said spanish language DirectX hack if that's the case.

I don't know why they have Securom for anything on Steam.

If it does have it, you can play the game, and then latter get a Securom remover

Fun game, just that the campaign doesn't have that much replay value. The combat is barrels of fun (on the PS3, at least), especially the stealth moments when you grapple on the gargoyles, but since enemies don't respawn it can get a bit uneventful.
