I've never seen Blade Runner. I'd like to change that though. So two questions.
1. Is it worth getting.
2. Which version should I get? International? Final? Workshop? Original?

1. Yes it is.
2. I don't know. There's like 150,000 versions out there right now. General consensus is that the "Final Cut" is the way to go, but please don't hold me to that.

IMHO, it's a very good film, though even so it's over-rated sometimes.

The versions...eh, watch em all at least once, and try to spot the important differences. There's an important plot point cut out of one version, but it tends to be so subtle you need someone else to point it out to you even in the others.

It's very good.

And I say this while going on the visuals and audio alone, because the story is rather boring and drags like a son of a *****.

It's most likely one of the top 5 best looking movies you'll ever see.

I love Blade Runner. It's one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever made. Great story and effects along with great acting.

As for the version, I wouldn't know. Go with the Final Cut because, well, it's the final version.

The final cut or the 1991 Director's cuts are the way to go. There was a HUGE amount of studio dickery involved in the various versions of the film. Those two in particular are both Ridley Scott approved.

I have to admit, though, I'm starting to wonder about his judgment. This is after all the man who brought us Robin Hood.

touché.

Still, those are definitively the best versions of the film.

Also, Ridley Scott gave us Alien. I'll accept Robin Hood in exchange for that.

We'll see if he still has the mojo when Prometheus comes out; His first return to science fiction since Blade Runner.

If you have a Blu-ray player, the Blu-ray FIVE disc (!!!) set has Ridley Scott's definitive cut, along with FOUR other versions of the film, including the much-(deservedly)maligned original theatrical cut, along with documentaries and commentaries out the ass. I got it for thirty bucks on Amazon, though I think it was on sale, so it may not be that cheap anymore. Great value for the price though... has something like 13 hours of shit altogether. Those are Lord of the Rings numbers, man!

To answer your question: Yeah it is a totally awesome movie. Not my favorite (I'm sorry, but no one will ever top Seven Samurai), but definitely worth your time.

Also, I would say it's deliberately-paced haha. I know... po-TAY-to po-TAH-to, but I am never bored by the performances in that movie, and I find Rutger Hauer especially to be wonderfully intense (his closing lines might be one of the best soliloquies in movie history).

Of course, one man's "Deliberately Slow" is another's "Boring." I'm not going to fault you for that haha.
