Is Braid overrated?

I found it to be incredibly moving. Granted, you need to dig a little bit to find meaning in it, but what's wrong with that?

I was trying to describe it to a friend, and the best I could come up with was 'a cross between Super Mario Bros and Mulholland Drive'.

Comical overreaction aside, you're allowed not to like it. It's your opinion, and it's fine. My opinion? A less absurd version of the above. Awesome puzzles, great sound/visuals, sweet story/ending. Worthy every penny.

I loved it. Couldn't fault it for a whole lot except a few parts that may have been slightly more irritating than intended.

I liked the art design, thought the gameplay was adequate for the task and considered the story to have been wildy overblown. With the exception of the ending itself, the rest of the narrative is disjointed and while some assert that this is because the creator wanted to produce something that would be discussed and interpreted a number of ways it simply comes off as being poorly done.

Considering the entire point of braid is "video games are a waste of your mind. You could've split the fucking atom with the type of out of the box thinking and trial and error you just did, but you didn't, all you got was this little fucking graphic."

I don't think that this is the entire point of Braid. I hope that you do not want to mislead people and yourself for no good reason.

I wasn't very impressed by Braid either. It did the whole time travel-esque thing pretty well but it just wasn't that fun. Found myself not caring at all about the story and just skipped any bit of text I came across.

Yeah. Never finished it.

I feel that it was very overrated, but possibly only because my initial feelings of Braid were very indifferent. I began playing and didn't feel very entertained or impressed, it was just another game. No big deal.

I ended up not liking it though. I felt that it was a very, very boring game with.... Bad presentation.

I'm serious. I don't get the hype. I love new 2D games, but Braid wasn't even that pretty. I have no idea what people were raving about.

Overrated? If it hadn't been for Yahtzee, never would have hard of it. If it had been getting great responses, I would have heard of it. I don't think it's overrated.
