When thinking about where CoD/MW games have gone from the originals I think the Big Lebowski got it right: "The plane has crashed into the goddamn mountain!"

The grenade launcher is in no way overpowered in cod 4. It can get you kills but even with sonic boom you need to land it right on people. CoD 4 also beats the old ones purely because it's modern. Why would i want a game about WW2? I already know what's going to happen.lizards said:

Me and me mates still get alot of laughs from Nazi Zombies but MW2 could have done with a bit more co-op in it, I would have loved to have gone and done the campaign together.
CoD has sorta been going downhill since CoD2 there have been a couple of ups but nothing much to talk about.
CoD4 was pretty good, World at War was amazing, MW2 ...had fun co-op, Black Ops has more features and gameplay modes than any other CoD game yet.
I mean come on, co-op, nazi zombies, BOTS in multiplayer?!, tons of multiplayer modes, dedicated servers for PC, possible dismemberment (WaW team and all that)
So I think it's getting better.
Also: Fixing boosters and quick scopers sooooo yes it's getting better.

COD has been going on a bumpy, plain landscape until it fell into a hole filled with noobish perks, killstreaks, host migration and more shittyness.
It makes perfect sense. And no i didnt know in mass effect i would stop the reapers and i didnt know in halo i would stop the covanant, partly cos i don't know what they are and also because it hasnt happened and there IS in fact such a thing as a plot twist.lizards said:

No. It's evolving. With Black Ops, it's probably as good as it's ever been.
Don't blind yourself with nostalgia. Call Of Duty always had problems. The first game had the horrendous lone-wolf missions, the second one is still to this day populated only with quick-scopers.
With every installment, CoD got bigger, more varied, more fun.

See, the thread title doesn't make much sense. There has been less than a handful of CoD games that came out after MW1, which means only 2 came out. It's not even in the same all park like Madden and Final Fantasy. The OP comparison is like comparing MW2 to Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Mystic Quest came out before FF4 (technically FF6) and that final fantasy game is where most fans consider the best Final Fantasy that came out.

No, it's improving. I also bet SO much money that most people in this thread saying the Modern Warfare 2 was rubbish, have owned it and played the fuck out of it! It's just cool to hate it these days.
