I never liked comic sans and I am a woman, I actually don't know of any of my woman friends that use comic sans actually. All I really know that, if you submitted an essay in comic sans at my university, you would get an instant fail. You had to submit a report in either times new roman or verdana.

Comic Sans is not appropriate for persons of any gender or age.
Parents strongly cautioned.

No, really. The font is hideous.

Thought I'd share the link.
I don't understand the hate for it, but I don't really care either.

I wouldn't say it's suited to a gender.

That's really it on my thoughts regarding the topic.
Typically I think there is nothing notably wrong with Comic Sans when used appropriately in the right medium, such as, inside a speech bubble. (Although saying that, you'd never see me using Comic Sans for a comic, I prefer something more along the lines of CreativeBlock or anything else you can find on DAfont.com)

But when it's used in things like one such example that happened to me, then it's almost like an insult.

I spend a lot of time worrying over how to write my CV probably because I want to give off the right impression hen seeking employment.

So I use professional-looking fonts and make sure everything is worded properly and clearly.
I just wish one company (Asda) would've returned the favour.
I sent in an application with my CV one time to the Dunstable branch and was forced to wait 7 months for a response.

When I received the response it was a sloppily, slant-printed, cartridge paper piece of unprofessional filth, written in Comic Sans.

Well, as is understandable, whenever a position has opened up at that particular Asda I curse their very name and barely manage to contain the desire to walk straight in, ask for the manager and punch him in his 'I can do better at your job' face.

That is my problem with Comic Sans.

The idea that Comic Sans is only for women and that anything written in Comic Sans must be written by a women is ridiculous and pretty dumb.

Who honestly cares? I mean it's just a font after all, it's not even like it has stereotypical girly features. So in short, no, I don't think comic sans is for girls, or any fonts for that matter, except wing dings, wing dings is for no one

Don't even get me started on comic sans. I used to love it. LOVE it. But then I started going to school for graphic design. I tell you, that will flip some switches. Now when I see comic sans, I think, "oh, someone found the font menu".

It doesn't stop there. I get mad when I see billboards with poor designs. It really does change you.

Sounds like a sexist statement implying that women aren't good at design.

That's a horrible sexist stereotype. Everyone knows Comic Sans is only for idiots.
It's annoying, especially when on something that should be more formal.

Comic sans is the ugliest piece of crap wannabe font in the fucking world.

I am a woman, and I openly protest to anyone using this nasty font, it just looks crappy and childish(in a bad way).

It isn't just comic sans. Too many fonts are completely pointless and take away more than they provide.

To be fair on some of the users on comic sans;
I'm fairly sure that comic sans is one of a series of fonts that are (Supposedly) easier for people with dyslexia to read (of course it could just be all sans-serif fonts are)

But yes, TERRIBLE font, the only time it is acceptable is if the alternative is Times New Roman *shudder*

Comic sans is not a bad font, it's just that it only has so many uses. It just doesn't look good in most contexts.
I saw this awesome book on fonts and typography one day. If it weren't so damn expensive, I'd buy it not only for myself but also for everyone that keeps using Comic Sans outside comics.

Comic Sans is not evil. It is not stupid. It is not just for women (seriously, what?). It is just a font/typeface/whatever that a bunch of people decided they didn't like. There is nothing wrong with it anymore than there is anything wrong with any font/typeface/whatever.

Some people don't like it, and in my experience they tend to be people who frequently use the internet, so if you mostly get opinions from the internet this starts to look like a generally accepted fact. The fact is more people either like it or really don't care than have vitriolic feelings about it.

Really, it's like a lot of things people hate on the internet.

Everyone should be able to use it. It's just a typeface. Why such a fuss about it?

I think this is relevant.

But then again,I'm me and I wouldn't trust that what I say makes sense sometimes.
