Well I think it's funny, but I'm a terrible person. Whatever people keep saying Sarah Silverman is funny, but honestly I don't relly get it. Humor is subjective so whatever. I also love that people are dissecting my psyche for finding this kind of thing funny. I always enjoy hearing what I think form other people.

The thing is, Encyclopedia Dramatica gets its kicks from targeting completely innocent members of the public. The whole Chris-chan saga was interesting and provided an interesting biographical view of a misogynistic and delusional man-child. A combination of societal development and understanding of women stuck around pre-teen levels with the sexuality of an adult (so basically like Return of Kings with less arrogance). The chronicles of Chris-chan is the best thing to ever come out of ED.

When ED goes after pretty much anyone that disagrees with them it comes off as extremely petty and makes me wonder who's really being "triggered". Being misanthropic, sarcastic and nihilistic is one thing but ED nowadays has the level of wit and self-awareness of a high school bully. And no, not one of the bullies that's part of the social elite that picks on others to show dominance, one of the bullies that's bitter that they can't achieve anything worthwhile so they take their anger out on people more socially inept than they are.

There's a difference between "we just have different senses of humour" and "these people are genuinely a bunch of creeps". I love plenty of "offensive" comedy, much of it would likely provoke these guys because it attacks their echo chambers. But there's a difference between offensive aggression and spitefulness.

You should see this websites article on Moviebob.

And don't get me started on the article about "You"

I have never seen such nihilistic preaching from one person.

I've always kinda considered ED and rationalwiki to be two sides of the same coin really.

Both are basically just jokes that people forgot were jokes and got carried away with it.

It's more of an archive than a satrical wiki, and most of the articles are designed to extract more salt from the people being written about. Although the site is plagued with cancerous, sadomasochistic articles such as [you](only exists as history at this point) and people who wank to how thick their skin is, most new articles have a fresher perspective, and the modern guidelines state that memespouting like in some of the older articles can get your article nominated for deletion.

It's still the headquarters of trolling through sheer volume, since it's where the smaller milking communities such as lolcow.farm (A harvesting site consisting of only females, everything exists now!) go to publish their articles for some glory. And as far as drama cataloging go nothing can really upset it's hegemony, since things like failblog and r/cringe were immediately dated and offer very limited publication options.

As far as funny goes, don't expect 100% of the content to blow you away, it's not meant to be that way. You're supposed to skim through the articles, taking most of the details with a grain of salting and chuckling at the really big mess ups of the people in the articles. Most lolcows only have a few big hilarious acts of public self detriment, the rest of the articles serve to romanticize and make room for extra salt mining.

Chris Chan is widely considered to be the god of lolcows. He's provided consistent entertainment for many years and the fact that such speculation often is fruitful is testament to how great of a character he is.

In fact, an entire wiki is dedicated to the mans screw ups since the ED article could not contain it all.

Supposed to be? Yes. Is? No.

Encyclopedia Dramatica feels like it's in the category of "trying too hard." The only time I've "used" it was when a friend was trying to mock my beliefs. We're not friends now.
