Is Fallout setting very handy for MMORPG?

I had this idea that Fallout setting works very well (as any post-apocalyptic setting) for MMORPG world. There are lots unexplored, dangerous locations, there are lots of loot (remaining from the old world) and all the new players are people that have emerged from another just opened vault. Thus it makes sense why this world becomes more and more populated (presuming the number of players grows in time) and from where they spawn.

What do you think?

Nope. Not really. Seeing a bunch of people around you would kind of ruin the idea of a barren wasteland.

Agreed One of the key elements in fallout 3 [ I think ] was the feeling of being alone in the barren wastelands.

I'll have to disagree with you good sir, although an MMO would probably ruin it; they should definitely add Co-operative play in Fallout 4.

Errr i don't think so, i mean the thing about MMO's that keep people playing is a sence of achviement if your going to be a post apocopilitc world there only so awusume you can become and laugh at your pitiful mates

althought vault did make a grate place for a starting charater with good excuses for training and such. but would say maby new players are released into the world every few weeks or so so you sign up and lv up for a bit inside your valut with other playsers are thrown into the world

What court battles?

The deal was that Bethesda sold the MMO rights to interplay with one condition! That in 2 years Interplay showed something to Bethesda.

2 years passed Interplay apparently doesnt have anything, Bethesda says "Give Back", Interplay now needs to give the rights back. End of Story.

Danny it's just too bad you weren't born with a fully functional brain. Maybe, and that's a big maybe, if you had been you would see the amazing glory in his idea.

I guess it would be cool, if the game was with quite aggressive PvP setup, which would mean that traveling alone in the wasteland is seriously dangerous. Then again, nowadays PvP is not considered casual players friendly, so such concept is very unlikely to be realized.

But you were never really alone. There was always humans in every part of the Capital Wasteland, whether it be insane Raiders,The Enclave soldiers, the Brotherhood of Steel or just explorers. I think the idea was that humans will always survive in some way, even after a nuclear holocaust.

Yes, 10 million people would really make it look like a Wasteland. And those billions of dollars pouring from every monster... Won't work.

I believe userNaMe666xx species inhabit any place, also fantasy, sci-fi etc. and the only place where they would fit in would be a MMO game with the setting of internet forum.

Also I think we're thinking in the box at the moment, presuming that this would be WoW with postapocalyptic setting (which most likely it will be, unfortunately). I'm more of a dreamer in this case, how interesting this game could turn out, if it were handled carefully and with some original Fallout taste in mind (which will never happen).
