Strange question, really. Is any game worth the wait? Well, it's not like you're waiting exactly, you should be doing productive things while games come out. If you're just sitting there muttering, "release, release, release" under your breath then your time is pretty much wasted regardless of what game we're dealing with.

Well even if it's only japan only for a few months, it wont stop some people from importing it IF PS3's are region free...I don't know if they are.

Then how on earth will you navigate the menu? Its a JRPG, so it will rely heavily on text.

That does not stop people from importing games lol I know. Once you get the gist of it everything else falls into place. I'm not saying i'm gonna import it since i don't have a ps3..yet but some people will do anything to try it first.

So anyway, FFXIII could possibly the most fun Final Fantasy I've ever played. Or it could just be the best looking. But I'm sure it will be both, so I don't mind the long wait, it's better than rush-releases.

In all seriousness though, i don't see why people fixate themselves on this kinda thing, typically if you think about a game too much before it comes out you develop overzealous standards for it, and then when it comes out you've only set yourself up for disapointment (half of the time).

I tend to try and ignore games until they're literally days from coming out, then i just eagerly await the day.

That way i have no expectations and i'm not (as) likely to become disapointed.

Well, I don't think any gameplay has been released yet. I might be wrong. I try not to judge games by pre-rendered trailers. Plus, I doubt we'll actually be able to pull off that stuff we saw in the trailer.
I'm gonna say though, It's not going to revolutionize RPG's. I bet it will be good, but not a godsend.

To answer, I hope it's worth the anticipation. Can't be too sure; I didn't enjoy twelve as much I did the others. Thus far, thirteen looks fantastic. ^.^ Not enough information as of yet. It would be more worth it if you had a PS3 being all the extra content and games that are coming out parallel with XIII.

Final Fantasy 12 - released 10/31/06

If you don't count 11, the MMO, you have an almost five year stint between actual Final Fantasy games last time. Personally I'm a fan of 12, but I know the changes in the gameplay and story hurt a lot of feelings.

Personally if it comes out this year, it won't be that long of a wait. A three year wait is nothing for an RPG sequel, especially when switching consoles. Developers have never been able to shit out those as fast as FPS sequels, for obvious reasons.

Honestly, I'm not as excited about it as I would have been a few years ago. The more I see of the game, the more I think it looks very much like every other post-merger Final Fantasy title. This, combined with Squareenix's new tendency to squeeze every last gullible dollar out of it's games with asinine mini-franchises of dubious quality (Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, Fabula Nova Crystallis, whatever they're calling the Kingdom Hearts compilation), does not endear the developer or it's flagship title to me.

I started playing VII and VIII again and I'm loving them.I want to get XIII I know XII introduced a new combat system though. Does the combat system make it feel less like a Final Fantasy game?

there use to be a time when i gave a flying funk about ff games.ff7 was great because it had romance and people could relate to it.


whats going to happen with ff13 is what ever console is selling better will get ff13 =/.like they did with ds lite (ff3) and psp (i forget what ones are on psp)
