Is Gothic 3 bad?

Ive heard alot of mix things about the game and most of them have been bad. Is the game at all good? becuase D2D is selling it for $5.

Unplayable because of all the bugs, but the things that are there in the game is not worth paying for. Do not buy it, you will most likely regret it.

Get Risen, its great. loopily hardcore but for me, thats half the appeal.

I couldn't get through it and I love the type of game. I disagree with ciortas1 though, they did learn a lot between Gothic 3 and Risen, the latter is a much better game. It's not one of the better RPGs out there, but if you find it for a similar price then I suggest buying it. None of the first three is in my opinion worth playing, but it does have a fanbase so it seems to suit some people.

i sunk months into Gothic 1 2 and 3. I love them. Gothic 1 and 2 are best. 3 is a bit of a black sheep of the family. Looks nice, MASSIVE, but yes, buggy as hell. You'll most likely get fed up of having missions in the log you cant complete and no real direction. Beats the pants off Oblivion for effort, vision and artistic style but the mechanics are broken. If you want to try it, make sure to get the COMMUNITY PATCH as this is a fan fix and is outstanding!

You will resent yourself if you buy it. Play Gothic, Gothic II (and its expansion), and if you want Gothic in 3D, buy Risen. It's crazy hardcore, but strangely easy to learn, exactly like Gothic. Remember; If Phirana Bytes made it, it's awesome.

My first playthrough was as a fighter/warrior/whatever and I found the game pretty stupid hard due to the stunlocks you can get into. Couple of years down the line decided to run it through again and played a mage. Once you get mana regen EVERYTHING is trivial... truly ridiculous how insanely overpowered you can become as a mana regen mage.

I Got it on my steam feels awkward, not very responsive, audio especially for pain yells is rubbish.

I Was gifted it for free so I'm not complaining in that area, but yea its not all that good
