Is Halo 4 still being played online?

Hi guys , so im thinking about getting halo 4 , just for the online fun , but my doubt is if there's still any1 playing it , or if matchmaking is just too empty!

Yeah, people still play it. Its multiplayer has been the biggest flop of the entire Halo series, but it's got activity.

I think Reach would be a better investment, but I'm guessing you're pretty set on 4 or already have Reach.

Four definitely still has activity in it. I've seen good numbers on it just a bit ago, though I haven't played in like three weeks. Uh, the Spartan Ops co-op is what you'll have trouble with, but find some friends and you'll be able to do them in private sessions.

Halo 4's numbers are pretty pathetic for a ~1-year-old Halo game, but they are still completely playable in terms of matchmaking functionality.

In terms of how much fun you'll have online, it's the least of the game's problems.

Not huge numbers but still totally playable. Some of the game types have pretty low numbers though, most people seem to like big team battle.

I still play it from time to time, and all the playlists have good enough traffic that you won't have to wait very long to get any games. However Halo 3 is free for gold members, and I'd recommend getting that and buying the DLC for it, Halo 3 was epitome of the halo series multiplayer (halo 2 had the best campaign).

Still going strong. My dad plays on a regular basis and he never seems to have problems finding games. Probably will stay that way until the next halo game comes out.

Theres still numbers on the board, but its definitely low. My friends and I went back to Reach and there were more people playing it than 4.

Honestly, I haven't played H4 in about 5 months or so. Last time I played though it was under 20k players which made for horrible matchmaking. Problem is that H4 has wretched netcode and no regional search filters/best connection filters so you'll have to deal with A LOT of lag. Then, because the population is so small, there are major issues with the game not being able to make proper TrueSkill pairings. Reality is; it turns into either your team will lay a curb stomping on someone or get absolutely destroyed.

Personally, I think you'd be better off going to H3 or Reach rather than H4.
