Is Hentai Bad?

Bad hentai does certainly exist but the medium as a whole is not bad. "Bad" is also a very general term, and I'm not sure whether you mean morally bad or bad quality and since everyone else has taken the morality side of the question, I may as well address the quality side.
There's a lot of quality hentai out there that actually has romantic stories involved and aren't just straight out sex. That's a HELL OF A LOT more than you can say for regular porn, where really bad actors give a half assed performance that you just skip to get to the "good bits." Yes, hentai like this certainly does exist, but I find a whole lot more of it that I've actually enjoyed the story more than the stimulation it provided. Not to mention, you just don't get written porn over this side of the pacific other than trashy romance novels, which are always bad (This is just my opinion from what I've read) and completely targeted at the female audience. Hentai does indeed tailor more for the male crowd, but there still exists a large amount tailored for women as well.
This post is getting a bit long so I'll cut it off with short answer: No, not all hentai is bad, but some is, just avoid the bad stuff and it's really no different to any other form of entertainment.

If it doesn't appeal to you then how would you know? It may be morally wrong, but isn't most hentai? It's not illegal and if it's not your type then don't bother with it.

Personally, I find rape and loli to be bad. But in my opinion: if a potential rapist, or pedophile, got their fix of hentai and thus do not go out and actually rape someone I think it is 'good' in a way. I suppose it has value in that regard, but doesn't mean I necessarily approve of it.

Part of the point of freedom of speech/expression, maybe the whole point, is that offensive messages are protected from censure. While the actions themselves may be harmful (and covered by law) the ideas can be shared. The personal moralistic perceptions of others shouldn't stifle individual creativity, even when said creativity is, quite frankly, gross.

What does that mean for Hentai? Even if I think a lot of it's weird or nasty or even (gasp!) immoral, the most I should do is delete the file/not return to the site. It's not objectively BAD, just not my thing.

Besides that, barring some reflection of an Elder God or other mind-shattering event, most adults have the tools to look at a suggestive image and decide whether or not to act on it. Watching fictional rape will not make you a rapist.

It means that it is illegal somewhere, which directly contradicts his statement.

If I'm not mistaken, the case was settled. There was no actual ruling on whether or not it was illegal.

No... Not all hentais are same besides it's just another form of porn if hentai is bad then porn is bad too, besides sexual desires are natural.

Hentai. Perverted. Is pervertedness bad? Perhaps.
Lolicon and Loli are different, as well. Lolicon is normally used to describe someone with a loli complex.
Is loli wrong? Perhaps. Debatable. But loli (generally, perhaps) is not underage, it is characters old enough, but they look too young/flat chested. So I don't think loli is wrong.
Hell, the non-sexual loli stuff can be rather cute.

Is porn bad? Because hentai is just drawn porn. So it's a good way to relax for people who like seeing their favorite anime-characters getting on with each other.

Pfft Sweden. If that man was in America, Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, Hawaii, etc I bet thing's would've been different.

I don't want to sound racist but some rules are more extreme in some places then others. Isn't there a place where you can get fined at least $500 for spitting? I'm just saying not everywhere is as morally objective.

I think the country with the spitting law could very well be Finland, and that's because they've got logical rules for fines, that punish you with a fine befitting your salary and so on.
