I mean, I'm 21, and my sister is 19. Growing up we used to hit each other all of the time. Hit, punch, bite (well she used to bite me sometimes), pinch, push, and a few times slap. Mostly as a kid, however we did it every now and then as teenagers. We don't really fight anymore except verbally. The last physical altercation was about a few months ago, when my sister was pissed about something and blocked me in the hallway, and started yelling at me and shoving me. At first i just stood there waiting for her to move out of my way, and then she did it again, so i shoved her out of the way far enough for me to get through.

I dunno, i'm not even that big. I'm about 5'7'' and 112 pounds, and she's about 5'4'' and 115 pounds. So, i think it's fair. She's bigger than me...

As a 112 pound guy, i legitimately think a lot of girls could potentially be a threat against my safety if they were to attack me. I hate how everyone assumes just because im a guy im automatically much stronger, and a girl couldn't possibly be a threat, and i have no reason defending myself. Whatever happened to equality?

Now, im not for some big buy beating up his wife just because he's a douche. However, i think people should stop thinking in black and white about everything.

Hitting a girl is bad if you are a gentleman. Of course the idea of gentlemen and ladies isn't fashionable anymore because its inherently sexist and sexism has been a hot topic for quiet some time. If you really believe in the equality of the sexs then hitting a girl is no worse then hitting a boy.

So, if you're a short guy, and some bodybuilder woman corners you, starts beating you up. Then proceeds to attacking your family, you'll just standby and watch?

First off, how are you 112 pounds and 5'7"? I am 5'8" and a twig. I can't imagine myself with 40 less pounds.

Anyway, is this like play fighting? Or is this a legitimate domestic disturbance? There is a difference in determining how "ok" it is.

Did I say anything about whether or not I'm a gentleman or if I believe in hitting a girl or not? No, I didn't. Don't put words into my mouth, thank you very much.

To quote an ancient Justice League comic, "Where I come from, equality of the sexes is given, so we can hit anyone."

Of course I don't condone going around punching people. Basically, if someone attacks you, their gender doesn't matter, what matters is getting out of there in one piece. For some slight offense, I wouldn't hit a girl, but I wouldn't hit a guy either.

I dislike all fighting. However, I don't see a guy hitting a girl as bad if she hit him first.

Well yes. But so is hitting a guy. I'd say hit whoever you like, so long as they've hit you first.
I agree, the difference between man and women rule is broken after the first punch been thrown regardless of gender.

I honestly have no problem with a guy hitting a girl if she deserves it. If girls can take hits from their own sex then they should be able to handle it coming from a guy if they were the one to instigate a fight.

tbh, hitting a girl is all that bad.

You know what else is also bad? Hitting anyone else.

Unless there's a given reason why, you shouldn't be hitting someone. Not unless they've done something very wrong. ... Or are Jack Thompson.

I probably shouldn't say this but...

I don't hit girls, but I do slap bitches. There is a difference.

Edit: For anyone who isn't clear on this, it's a joke. I do not express violence on anyone unless forced.

Depends who initiated physical contact. If a girl shoves me, clearly intending to provoke a fight and not just trying to get me out of my way, I'm not going to back down. I don't care how people look at me, if someone initiates a physical fight I'm going to defend myself.

This was something I brought up a while back in a thread about guys getting hit in the nuts. In response to a particular poster I said that any woman who thinks it's okay to give a guy a shot to the nuts has to accept that if they don't down that guy he's going to be pissed off, injured and likely out of control.

If someone hits me, I'm going go hit back. I'm pretty sure self defence isn't a crime and a court shouldn't be sexist if it goes that far.

What you did, I wouldnt say that thats really hitting. especially since you knew her that closely. thats more like sibling rivalry.

Now actually hitting a girl? I find that to be rather spineless and disgraceful if your a man, but then again I'm old school in thought like that.

It's as bad as hitting a guy.

It makes my blood boil when I see girls that think they should have the right to hit men but act as though as a man is the devil if he should even tap her.

I think no more wrong to hit a girl than a guy and it seems stupid that people get hung up over it. Especially when the girl in question is bigger than the guy and/or the one being aggressive!
