I really don't condone hitting anyone, but if the girl is out to cause you physical harm, then not holding back would be your best option. Of course, you'd have to prove that it was self-defense. It'll be hard because the girl will probably try to play innocent.

Unless they are posing a serious and real threat to either me or someone else. I would never hit a woman... Or a man for that matter.
Actually, for me, hitting girls is often as tempting as hitting guys.
I've been in quite some fights and I have realised that I am not capable of controlling how hard I hit. Of course I can roughly determine the strength behind a punch but sometimes I just hit people way too hard. Which makes me afraid of hitting girls because I fear that I will overdo it and hit her to hard.
However if there would ever be a girl that challenges me to fight(what I highly doubt) I would surely decline but if someone no matter what age, gender or ethnic simply pisses me of and doesn't deserve anything else than a nice beating then I will give in to my urge of hitting her/him.
Of course I would never hit someone I like, yet someone I love.

Between siblings, it's bound to happen. But I would still make a conscious decision not to hit her, because she's a woman. Deciding not to hit a woman "because you're stronger than her" is bull. I don't hit women because it would mean I'm an asshole. I'm also a champion for chivalry and being a gentleman.

To me, it reinforces a "women are weaker than men, and must be protected" stereotype that really should be gone by now.
