Is it just me or is liking games not "in"?

I'd say we are, on the main a healthly well rounded group of cigarette smokin', coffee swilling cynics and wide eyed, drolling, toothy grinning fanboys/girls.

At least that me on any given day.

I must say I largely agree with the OP. Most people on here seem to dislike everything, except something like Skyrim which is "ok" to like. I'm not sure why because arguably this is one of the best gaming years ever, yet people seem to be "too cool" to like or at least appreciate a game is good even if it isn't there preferred genre. However despite this, there are games people seem to generally like such as Portal 2, Arkham City etc, so I guess it's not that bad.

Personally I come to the Escapist because I'm the opposite of the OP. I love the game talk on here and other peoples opinions. This is because with my friends unless its CoD, Fifa or something along those lines it gets bashed and isn't considered a good game. I do have my other circle of friends who are much more into games but I don't get to see them so much these days. So the Escapist fills my need for deeper gaming discussion.
