Ashes to Ashes isn't bad.
Life on Mars was much better though, but the American version of it was horrible.
Life on Mars was great. not seen much of Ashes to Ashes and have no interest in watching the American version.

other good shows include Red Dwarf, My Family (though once Nick left it kinda started going downhill), Outnumbered, Wire in the Blood and Waking the Dead. all awesome shows

Red Dwarf is kind of a hit and a miss for me, mainly because I only ever watch it on Dave, and they seem to only show a few of the seasons... My Family is still quite good in my opinion, although I agree, Nick was amazing. Outnumbered is just full of win, although its a shame the seasons are so short. And Wire in the Blood I have only seen one episode of, as I can never seem to catch it, but from what I have seen its very good.

for Red Dwarf season 1-5 were great, 6 and 7 was a bit nerrr but season 8 i thought was great (though many don't think so), My Family has the odd episode now where it's good, the Xmas specials are brilliant, but generally it's lost that special something (called Nick) and Wire in the Blood as great, you can probably get the box sets or watch them online but either way it is one of the best criminology/forensic/bad-guy(or girl)-do-bad-let's-find-them program in years.

With the exception of Burn Notice on USA, I feel that there are no good shows on anywhere in the world. Full stop end sentence.
Hells yeah, and it is coming back on Thursday!

Trust me, America TV is horrible too. At least British TV is more original than it is here, all we have is crappy remakes of your shows.

Well, you just missed the last episode of Reggie Perrin, which I found hilarious! Apart from that I agree. Just gotta wait for Torchwood I suppose.

The last thing I remember watching on T.V. was Hustle, and I still do whenever it comes on.

When we make good stuff it's awesome, but that's amongst the crap that pervades the airwaves.

I'll admit British comedy's are good, but when it comes to series with plot it somehow becomes a tangled mess of reusing something and stealing something from a successful show. I really enjoyed the idea of the tv show Dexter which took such a very un-likeable idea and turn it into something I would call good.

Field research:

Reaction to Dexter: "Damn it, already kill the damn Keira Knightley look alike!

Reaction to The Bill: "can we change channel? please... this clunky dialog is costing me the use of my ears."

Survivors was awful, granted. Ashes to Ashes isn't bad though. Although admittedly it's not as brilliant as Life on Mars.

There are no good tv series, you are correct. Everyone that DOESN'T live in England raves about that Dr Who rubbish that we all detest.
We want proper Sci-Fi, DAMMIT :)

We have Mock The Week (Y) Which is ace.
The Inbetweeners.
Apart from that it's not that great.
OH...WE HAVE BIG BROTHER *Shoots own face*
So when that starts we get crap, replaced with just the worst thing on earth and then you'll wish the original crap was on instead of that pile of rubbish. Who really wants to watch the live ones to? Oh lookie...people sleeping.
This and, Shameless is pretty awesome too.

QI, Top Gear, Have I Got News For You.

By some strange coincidence, all of these are made by the Beeb.

This, plus Buzzcocks and Mock the Week.

As someone once said. "You can't beat our humour"

And Dexter was a great show, for one season. However, like all America TV shows they drive them into the ground, destroying something wonderful. The second season was pretty crappy, but now, in retrospect, it was brilliant compared to season 3, and season 4 will only be worse. It is something that happens all too often

The Inbetweeners could be good if they improved the writing a bit.

Skins is absolute shite though.
Old skins I quite enjoyed though they destroyed the latest series by changing the established well loved cast and replaced it with untalented shits like whoever played "cook".

To top it off Britains got talent. But not for scriptwriting it would seem...

The IT crowd I'd add. The internet in a box is just hilarious. Also "Don't type "Google" into Google or you will break the internet."
Basically, there is good stuff, just none of it's on at the moment. So just watch House...
